Dog Events in Asharoken, NY

Gather your friends, family and dog to join the fun in celebrating the human-canine bond. Everyone is invited for a day of fun and festivities. Activities include inspiring speakers, dog demonstrations, agility courses, and the annual costume contest!

Bring your costumed pup to participate in the dog costume parade at 12:00 PM! There will also be a beer garden, guess the weight of a pumpkin contest, plus shopping at 70+ retailers, crafters, local businesses, and vendors. The rain date is October 24th.

Visitors are invited to bring their leashed dogs to stroll the gardens, with the exception of the Walled Garden. Advance tickets are required, and no entry tickets will be sold at the ticket booth. On Sunday, the festivities continue with the Fall Dog Parade & Costume Contest at 3:00 PM. Participants must register at the map stand by 2:00 PM. Prize categories include Best Overall, Prettiest, Most Handsome, Most Original, Best Person & Dog, and Funniest. Sunday's festivities will also include vendors.

Leashed dogs are welcome to stroll with you around the gardens! The costume contest begins at 3:00 PM. Participants must register at the map stand by 2:00 PM. This event is part of the Dog-Friendly Weekend at Old Westbury Gardens.

Every Saturday and Sunday from May through October, leashed dogs are welcome at these live outdoor performances from talented local and regional bands across a variety of genres. Enjoy cold beer and savor delicious food. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Start and end times vary by date; see their website for schedule.

The Arthritis Foundation’s race is the original festive race for charity with your pup. It’s where you can strut your stuff in your favorite holiday costume. Bring a team of friends, family, and co-workers to run or walk. Please ensure your dog is kept on a leash. Check-in starts at 9:00 AM and the race begins at 10:30 AM.
