Because They Matter Because They Matter is an annual fundraising and outreach event hosted by the Vancouver Humane Society that brings together animal lovers and community volunteers to support pets and their guardians in need. The event focuses on raising funds for life-saving veterinary care through the VHS’s McVitie Fund and also includes an outreach walk through Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside where participants distribute essential pet supplies such as treats, leashes, harnesses, and blankets while sharing information about accessing veterinary assistance and other support services.
