Dog Events in Catawba, NC

Pups are welcome at this weekend celebration of canine skill, energy, and charm, featuring top sheepdogs guiding flocks through challenging courses using only whistles and voice commands. Enjoy thrilling dog sports like agility, obedience, and Dock Dogs, plus entertaining trick demos. Shop pet-friendly vendors, savor food truck fare, and bring your own well-behaved, leashed pup to explore the scenic grounds. The event is rain or shine.

Leashed dogs are welcome at the annual holiday parade that starts at the intersection of 4th Street NW and 1st Avenue NW. The parade will continue on 1st Avenue NW towards City Hall, turn right on North Center Street, and then right on Main Avenue NW to Union Square. Immediately following the parade, Santa will light the tree on Union Square. Guests can enjoy holiday music, shopping specials and more!

Bring Fido to this fun, annual event featuring a 1-mile fun run for kids, followed by the 10K walk/run and 5K races. Four-legged pacesetters can run with their owners in either of the races. A turkey and trophy will be awarded to the top male & female in the 5K and 10K.

Each Thanksgiving, runners and walkers of all ages participate in this 5K event to help fight poverty. Leashed dogs are welcome to walk or run with you. The Top three overall male and female finishers receive running store gift cards; the top three finishers in each age category will take home a festive little Turkey Trot treat. Register by November 8th to receive a race t-shirt! Donations of canned goods or shelf-stable food items are welcomed and appreciated on race day.
