The Laconia Pumpkin Festival, formerly the New Hampshire Pumpkin Festival, welcomes leashed pups to celebrate the season! Expect thousands of glowing carved pumpkins, including the iconic pumpkin tower, live music (plus laser shows and dancing witches), festive parades for kids and costumed pets, artisan and food vendors, the Pumpkin Express train, games like corn-hole and craft stations, and a beer garden.

Bring your pets for a photo day with Light & Lens Photography! All pets are welcome (please keep them leashed or in carriers). Each guest will receive one free digital file, with extra downloads and 8x10” prints available for just $5 each. Walk-ins are welcome, but reserving your spot online at is recommended!

Enjoy Trunk-or-Treat for dogs, decorate Halloween dog cookies ($5, benefiting Long Journey Animal Rescue), free doggie mocktails, a pet costume contest and dog/owner games with prizes, and a spooky pet photo fundraiser. Refreshments, mini trick-or-treat bags, and special event discounts make this a festive, family- and pet-friendly celebration. All dogs must be leashed and vaccinated.

Enjoy a fun, fitness-focused race for runners and walkers of all ages and abilities. Participants can look forward to a refreshing outdoor course and a sweet post-race treat with their furry companion! Please note that dogs must start at the back of their respective runner or walker group.

Join professional photographers Gini and Doug Haines for pet, family and kids’ photos. Photos start at $10 for a 5x7, with portrait packages, holiday cards, and novelty gifts featuring your pet also available. Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations are recommended to secure your spot.

Leashed dogs are welcome the first Friday of every month from May through November when businesses are encouraged to stay open late and the streets come alive with food trucks, live performances, art displays and other activities.

The Arthritis Foundation’s race is the original festive race for charity with your pup. It’s where you can strut your stuff in your favorite holiday costume. Bring a team of friends, family, and co-workers to run or walk. Please ensure your dog is kept on a leash. Check in starts at 8 AM and the race begins at 9 AM.

One small, well-behaved and leashed dog under 20 pounds is welcome to travel in coach! Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive by train to visit with the passengers. All four-legged passengers receive a green ‘Doggy Ticket.’ Dogs must be kept on a leash and at your feet at all times. Pups aren't permitted on seats or on laps. Train schedules vary, and reservations are highly recommended.
