Held every weekend throughout the month of October, the Hermann Oktoberfest is an annual, dog-friendly event celebrating the town’s German heritage and the autumn season. The activities are spaced out around the German town. Enjoy German food (schnitzel, bratwurst, sauerkraut or pretzels) and a glass of wine, beer, or spirits.

This weekly gathering offers free live music, great wines, wine slushies, beer and light fare on the dog-friendly, open-air, covered deck overlooking the vineyard. Guests can relax with friends, enjoy a romantic evening or pair the experience with dinner at the on-site restaurant.

This family- and dog-friendly fall celebration features seasonal crafts, family games, pumpkin decorating, hot apple cider, and outdoor fun among the autumn leaves. Dogs must be leashed at all times.

Visitors can bring their pups and donate new or gently used pet supplies to help animals in need. Guests can also enjoy warm drinks, sweet treats, and holiday fun, dress their dogs in ugly sweaters, and take photos with Santa!

Bring Fido for a photo with Santa! All proceeds from this event will go directly to help the animals at the Animal Rescue League of Iowa. Walk-ins are based on availability, but please note that reservations will be given priority. All pets must be on a leash or in a carrier before and after your photo session.

Bring Fido to watch the Iowa Wild with you! Dogs must be under the control of their owner at all times, up-to-date on all vaccinations, and at least six-months old. No female dogs in heat. Retractable leashes aren't permitted.

Activities throughout the season include German Christmas markets, concerts, a tree lighting ceremony, Children’s Lantern Parade and more! Please note that not all activities and shops are dog friendly, so be sure to check first before entering with Fido.
