This popular portion of the annual Woosterfest celebration takes place on the festival’s Saturday schedule. Dachshund enthusiasts are invited to bring their speedy pups to dash through downtown Wooster’s streets in age-based heats, “Little Smokies” through “Knockwursts.” Beyond racing, participants show off their pups’ flair with a costume contest, with prizes for both speed and style! All dogs must be leashed before and after their sprint, comfortable in a group setting, and under handler control at all times.

All are invited to the lawn in the school area for this annual blessing. Please ensure Fido is leashed and all other pets are in carriers or cages.

Celebrate your furry friends at this annual Pet Parade and Blessing led by Father Chris Yaw of St. David's Episcopal Church. Well-behaved dogs, cats, and bunnies are welcome, with cats and bunnies required to remain in carriers and dogs on leashes. All animals must be up to date on vaccinations, and guests are encouraged to donate dog or cat food to support St. David's Food Pantry. Costumes are optional, and all participating pets receive a goody bag. Please note that registration is required.

Pups under 15 lbs will compete from 12:00–1:00 PM, 15 lbs to 40 lbs will compete from 1 PM-2 PM, and 40 lbs and up will compete from 2 PM-3 PM. Space is limited to the first 40 dogs registered in each weight category. All winners will be chosen by the panel of judges at the end of each round.
