Dog Events in Fall River, KS

All registered racing Wiener dogs are welcome the Sunday only of Oktoberfest to zip, zag, and run to the finish line! Your Dachshund will be given a numbered hot dog bun costume and run 150 feet from one end of the Dash to the other. Dogs will run in heats of five to six pups. Wieners (winners) receive prizes! Pre-registration is required.

This dog-friendly Halloween event features a costumed dog parade with prizes for Best in Show, Best Historic Costume, and Crowd Favorite. Guests can stroll the historic grounds, enjoy pup cups, and browse local pet vendors. Advance registration is recommended, and walk-ups are welcome. Check in at the registration table between 2 PM - 3 PM.; the parade begins promptly at 3:15 PM.

On one select weekend each month, treat yourself and your pup to a leisurely day among the vines. Guests can unwind with a glass in hand while dogs explore open-air spaces, strike a pose at cute photo spots, and enjoy a little extra attention along the way.

This dog-friendly Halloween event features a pet costume contest, doggy dash, pet vendors, and portraits by ICT Pawtraits. Guests can also enjoy face painting and hot dogs from Point Nine, with the first 100 available for free. The event is free and open to the public.

KC Pet Fest is Kansas City’s premier pet festival and pet expo celebrating all pets with vendors, live demonstrations, educational sessions, adoption opportunities, entertainment, and hands-on activities for pet lovers. Pets must be at least 6 months old to attend and must be on a non-retractable maximum 6' leash or inside a carrier. There's a limit of one pet per adult.

On these select days, leashed pups are welcome to stroll, sniff, and explore the beautiful garden grounds alongside their humans. It's a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors together in a peaceful, scenic setting. Dogs must be on a non-retractable leash, with a limit of two dogs per household, and owners are expected to clean up after their pets.

Helping Hands Humane Society hosts an annual Santa Paws fundraiser benefiting the animals in its care. The event features holiday photos with Santa or a winter backdrop, nail trims by a volunteer groomer, a Howliday Bazaar with local vendors selling pet treats, toys, and gifts, and a bake sale supporting the shelter. Pets are welcome, and pre-registration is encouraged for photos and nail trims.

Celebrate the holidays with a festive pet parade, costume contest with prizes, photos with Santa, holiday photo opportunities, pup cups, paw art, and complimentary seasonal coffee or hot chocolate. Visitors can also explore pet service booths, activities, and giveaways, and honor beloved pets who have passed at a memorial tree. Dogs must remain leashed at all times.

This Arthritis Foundation’s race is the original festive race for charity with your pup. It’s where you can strut your stuff in your favorite holiday costume. Bring a team of friends, family, and co-workers to run or walk. Please ensure your pup is kept on a leash. Check-in starts at 7:30 AM and the race begins at 9:00 AM.

Philbrook Museum of Art opens its gardens for leashed dogs to stroll, sniff, and relax with their owners during this program held the third Sunday of each month! Enjoy a full day in the gardens, bring a water bowl, and follow simple rules that keep the experience safe, clean, and welcoming for everyone.

Gathering Place’s Dog Play Days welcome leashed dogs on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays only, so owners can walk and socialize their pets on permitted pathways and grassy areas. Dogs are permitted daily on Tuckabache Trail (formerly Midland Valley Trail) and RiverParks Trail. Please note that pups aren't permitted in buildings, play areas, water features and landscaped areas.
