Bring your Dachshund to the annual running of the Wiener dogs during Oktoberfest at SteelStacks! Purebreds, Dachshund mixes and Wiener Dogs at heart under 25 lbs. are welcome to participate in the races. Gates open for races each Saturday and Sunday at 1:00 PM, and races begin at 1:30 PM. Come early to participate in the Wiener Dog Parade at 12:00 PM!

Guests can admire creative entries made by local residents, organizations, and businesses, then vote for their favorites using the Peddler's Village app.

Pets are welcome to join their owners as participants stroll, meet new friends, and occasionally wrap up the walk with a visit to nearby pet-friendly spots for a treat or drink.

This fun-filled fall event features over 100 vendors, delicious food trucks, raffle baskets, a dog agility course, costume contests, and pup cups from a partial dog menu. And don’t forget—it’s howloween, so costumes are highly encouraged for both humans and pups. The 5K begins at 9 AM, and the one-mile walk starts at 11:00 AM.

Bring Fido to these special days and events where dogs are allowed to go on their very own zoo excursion! Dog admission is limited and rules are in place to help ensure comfort and safety for everyone and the zoo’s animals. All guests visiting the zoo with a dog must complete an online application and submit required documents before purchasing tickets. Please note, dogs are currently not permitted inside the Barn, Wetlands Boardwalk, Feeding Decks, and Harmony Hideaway. Habitat HQ and Trail of the Jaguar may have limited access depending on the day of your visit. The event will be paused for the months of July and August.
