This dog-friendly festival features a pet-friendly 5K Fun Run, Leash-urely Walk, live music, food trucks, local vendors, pet demonstrations, Wiener Dog Races, Puppy Yoga and a petting zoo. Guests can also visit animal rescues, meet adoptable pets, enjoy a car show, raffles and giveaways.

Bring Fido to paddle, fetch and play in the pool! Vendors will also be on site. All dogs must be current on vaccinations. Please note that only dogs will be permitted in the pool for this two-timed event.

Dock Dogs is a dock‑jumping competition featuring Big Air, Speed Retrieve and Extreme Vertical divisions where teams of handlers and dogs compete on a temporary pool set up on the beach. Spectator viewing is free and the event takes place on the Virginia Beach Oceanfront at 14th Street as part of Neptune Festival’s Boardwalk Weekend. The event’s organizer and DockDogs both state that anyone may bring a dog to compete and that viewing is open to the public.

As part of the annual Oktoberfest at The Wharf festival, the crowd favorite Wiener dog races will be hosted by Tommy McFly. Prizes are awarded to the speediest dogs. All breeds are welcome to watch, but only Dachshunds can participate in the race. There will also be an Adoptable Dog Parade between the Dachshund races.
