Notes from the host
Mt Joseph
Experience a one-of-a-kind stay at Mt. Joseph, a luxurious condo in the heart of Downtown Enterprise, located in the renovated historic Litch Hotel. Designed with Western and Rodeo enthusiasts in mind, this unique space features a fully equipped kitchen, spacious bedroom with a king-size bed, large bathroom, and comfortable living area. Dog-friendly and close to local attractions like Wallowa Lake and Joseph, it's the perfect base for exploring the wonders of Wallowa County.
Please note that the Litch Hotel building is over 110 years old, and as with many historic buildings, sound travels more easily between units than in modern constructions. We ask all guests to be respectful and understanding of their neighbors and to minimize noise levels in the condo.
Please note that there is currently a construction project on the other side of the building, which may result in some noise between Monday and Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Also please note that this building is over 110 years old, so sound transfers more than modern buildings. If guests are in adjacent units, you will hear them and they will hear you. We ask all guests to be understanding both in terms of the noise they hear and the noise they make. As you can see from our reviews, almost all of our guests still have great experiences, and many guests return because the space is so unique.
When you stay at the Mt Joseph unit, in the historic Litch Hotel, you will enjoy both history and modern craftsmanship. The Litch Building was first built in 1880 as a 1-story saloon. in 1901 a dog knocked over a kerosine lamp and much of the building burnt down. In 1909 Sam Litch rebuilt it with an expanded footprint and a 2nd story. Over the past 140 years it has been home to countless businesses including a hotel. Todd and Andy ,The McKee Brothers, purchased the Litch building in 2018 in considerable disrepair. Wanting to preserve this important part of Wallowa County history, they poured their blood, sweat and love into first reinforcing and then renovating the building back to much of its original grandeur. This project is on going and will eventually include 13 short term condos each with a unique Wallowa County theme.

Mt. Joseph is located in the historic Litch Hotel on the corner of Main Street and River Street in Downtown Enterprise. Enterprise is generally quieter and slower paced than its more famous neighbor Joseph. Many guests that stay in the Litch Hotel have noted their appreciation for this feature of the location. On the other hand Joseph is a short 10 minute drive away making it a convenient access point to the many outdoor adventures that our guests plan to enjoy during their stays.

Please inform us at the time of booking if you will be bringing a pet. We reserve the right to ask you to leave the property should you fail to do this. There is a $25 nightly fee per dog (ESA animals included) that will be collected prior to check-in. This is refundable should your pet no longer be accompanying you after the fee is paid.
Please note that pets are not allowed on the furniture, nor are they allowed to be left unattended in the unit unsupervised.
Please note that there is currently active construction occurring in the Litch Hotel building Monday - Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm until Memorial Day 2023. You may hear the construction in this unit.
Also please note that this building is over 110 years old, so sound transfers more than modern buildings. If guests are in adjacent units, you will hear them and they will hear you.
