  Not so great

  There wasn't an issue for our Golden. Our dog was treated well. It's just that they had no facilities for breakfast and they did have a doggie station just no bags in them.

  Good Choice

  Average condition for the age of the building. Was very clean, no odors or anything. Only issue we had was random noise from other people in the hall, and someone set off their smoke detector in the middle of the night.

  Had to stay on the top floor. Inconvenient taking Fido out for potty breaks. I asked a week in advance for lower floor.

  No Trouble in Room

  We stayed midweek and had no trouble with noise, the appliances were present and functioning, and our dog was allowed "everywhere." We only used the elevator when loading in and out, but it was nice to be able to bring him with us (unlike another hotel on this trip.) The full kitchen was especially nice considering this was one of the cheapest out of our 4 hotels on this road trip. I'm giving this hotel 5 bones, but other review sites, it would be less. The hallway carpets (especially the stairwell landings) were heavily stained and worn. Whether the very large number of puppy puddle evidence was due to dogs who couldn't hold it until getting outside or due to lazy dog owners not bringing their dogs all the way out during bad weather (or whatever else) over the years, we'll never know. We've stayed in some truly 5 out of 5 rating hotels with our dog, but on the Southwest to Mid-Atlantic drive, we've grown to lower our expectations. Super dog friendly and easy to get around. The price was definitely right, and every staff member we interacted with was friendly.

  Clean, well stocked

  The people were all very nice and the room was well stocked and extra clean. I love the fact the shower was stocked with plenty of Dove, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. I have a little yippy Yorkie and she was treated very kind. Only complaint is they need to purchase a new American flag for their flag pole. If you can’t retire a flag when the time comes, you should remove the pole. Respect the flag or it has no meaning. Loved this place.

  Worst room on our trip

  Since we had stayed at other Candlewood Suites we thought this would be a great stop, but that was not the case. The room had a terrible smell of mildew, TV did not work, ice maker did not work, sink didn’t drain, and toilet kept running. Thankfully parked in the back of the facility because there were no lights on in the front lot. Dog was on high alert the whole time we were there. Would not stay here again.

  Nice property with great big rooms

  Friendly staff. Big, clean room. Big room... actually, really big room, which was very comfortable. The coffee supplies in the room went sadly unused, as the coffeemaker in the room was MIA. The coffee machine in the hospitality room/"store" was on the fritz, and the selection of cold drinks, snacks, and microwave-ready food was pretty slim... not up to Candlewood Suites norm. If there was a 3.5 bone rating, that's what we would give it. If they addressed this issues listed, it would get an easy five bones.

  Michaela at desk great. TV situation poor. Had to change rooms. No frills hotel. All parking lot lights off. No b'fast, just coffee. Would likely not stay again.

  Room lacked

  Our room, 420, did not have any of the items normally supplied at a Candlewood Suites. We didn’t have a way to make coffee, i.e. coffee pot. Also had no dishes and no silverware.

  The Room Location Matters

  Don't take Room 107. Directly behind the headboard is the elevator and electrical equipment room. It is crazy loud and vibrates. Headphones didn't help with the noise. Ridiculous that they didn't sound proof that wall by default. The storm coming left no rooms to switch to. Thought about leaving and driving the 5 hrs home but I just drove 10hrs. Got better after midnight with the elevator not being used and possibly several nearby ac units being turned to a lower fan setting.

  Milek checked us in and was very professional. Moved his personal car when another guest couldn’t find a spot. Best dog room on our trip.

  Nice big room for the animals and family not to feel cramped. Charged $20 per pet which is about the rate.

  Very Nice Stay

  Room and common areas were very nice. We had no complaints and would gladly stay again. We would recommend more dog waste disposal bins. It took me a day to locate the one available which oddly enough was next to the patio grilling and picnic area. Unfortunately too many inconsiderate pet owners left dog waste in all the grassy areas. One wonders what their own yards are like.

  Only a strip of green space for the dog

  The staff were excellent and the outside green space was good for the dog. Other patrons did not pick up after their dogs, which is very unfortunate. The physical space was on the run down side - adequate, working, but in need of updating. The ac unit cycled extremely loudly.

  Will Be Back

  Texarkana is not much to write home about, but we were just passing through. HUGE suites, comfy bed, lots of amenities. I will be staying with my animals at Candlewood again in the future for sure!
