Studio Cielito is one of two cottages on Rancho los Soñadores . This one-story rental gives you amazing views of three acres of this rolling juniper-filled property.
This former pottery studio has been transformed into an inviting cabin, with a built-in seating area, kitchen, and sleeping nook in one large, light-filled structure. With high ceilings complete with traditional wood vigas beams and a circular skylight to stream in the moonlight.
But our favorite thing about the rental is the vintage clawfoot tub in the new attached bathroom that sits under a massive skylight for midnight soaks under the Milky Way.
The bathtub has a hand shower but please note there is no standing shower in this unit and that is by design. Check out our other listings if you are a shower-only kinda traveler, cause this is one is for bath lovers.
This unit has everything you need to make breakfast, lunch, and simple dinners when you’re not enjoying the gastronomic food scene in Santa Fe.
The bedroom nook includes a Helix queen mattress, luxury linens, two types of pillows for all sorts of sleepers, and Euro shams for reading in bed. And if you need an extra bed, let us know and we’ll provide linens for the twin Casper mattress built into the living room nook. The extra bed is a twin mattress, but please note that Cielito is small and cozy - this extra bed is probably best suited for a child traveling with you. An adult can sleep there comfortably, but y’all have to be very good friends to be comfy in parties of 3 here!
Please note that there are additional costs associated with this rental:
- This is a pet-friendly unit, and to keep it sparkling clean, we charge an additional $100 cleaning fee per pet for your stay, maximum of 2 pets, not exceeding 100 lbs total.
- There is an extra $50 guest fee for use of the daybed. We pay a living wage to the people who help keep this place clean and looking good. Thank you for helping us to do that.
You'll have the whole cottage to yourself.
There are people on the property who can help you during your stay, but you’ll let yourself in with a lockbox and be left to your own devices. Cielito is a part of Rancho Los Soñadores, a collection of several cottages located on a nearly three-acre tract of land covered in juniper trees, minutes to town, but with the feel of the countryside.
Welcome to the traditional village of Agua Fria! People have been living on in this gorgeous part of Santa Fe since 3,000 B.C., harnessing the magic of this very special place. Home to the Jicarilla Apache and the Pueblos, in 1995 it was officially designated a Traditional Historic Community.
Nestled just west of downtown Santa Fe, located directly north of Meow Wolf, we’re close to everything but far enough not to hear it all.
We’ve put together a curated list of our favorite places to eat and be, but Santa Fe is a place that begs you to explore without a plan. Chat up someone at the Farmer’s Market and suddenly you’ve got a whole list of things to check out.
It’s best to have a rental car, and we have parking provided, but Uber and Lyft are available if you don’t drive. In the winter in Santa Fe, we recommended renting something with four-wheel drive to get around.
Studio Cielito is a great blend of town and country life - you'll be fifteen minutes away from the center of downtown Santa Fe but be able to wake up in the morning to rolling hills and hiking trails directly behind the house. You’re fifteen minutes from the Santa Fe Opera, twenty minutes from Ten Thousand Waves Japanese Spa, forty-five mins from the ski slopes, an hour from Georgia O’Keeffe’s Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu and three seconds from sunrise and sunset hikes to take in the incredible New Mexico sky.
WELCOME TO STUDIO CIELITO!
Cielito in Spanish means “little sky” and we couldn’t think of a better way to describe this light-filled former pottery studio. We’re excited for you to discover Santa Fe and explore and learn about this historically rich part of the world while you relax with us. Here’s everything you need to operate and navigate this rental.

Lock Box Code
You already have this if you’re inside, but in case you need it, it’s 5-1-5-4.
To lock up, make sure the left door is locked by pulling the handle up before locking the bolt on the right.
Gate
The code to enter is 1-2-3-4. To EXIT, simply drive up to the gate and it will open automatically. Sometimes, you need to get pretty close for the gate to do its thing.
Rain + Windows
At this altitude, the weather is constantly moving and changing - sunny one minute and a thunderstorm the next, so please make sure you always close the windows when you leave. The entire cottage can be soaked in an instant.
Noise Curfew
To be respectful to our neighbors and others on the property, please no loud outside talking or windows open dance parties after 10PM.
Altitude Self-Care
If you’ve never been to Santa Fe, welcome to 7,199 feet above sea level. You might require a day to adjust, so make sure you drink lots of water and be kind to yourself if you are sensitive to big altitude changes. If you are still feeling wonky after a couple of days, you can buy canned oxygen at Big 5 Sporting Goods to help you over the hump.
Dog Rules
We’re so happy to have your and your pup relaxing with us! Your pup is welcome everywhere you are. The built-in couch is covered in stain resistant fabric, so you can both snuggle up there with a good book.
The only thing we ask is that you wipe paws off before they get on the furniture. The landscape can be snowy/rainy/muddy and we’ve provided paw wipes for you in the dog supplies in the closet for clean pup feet. Please also clean up after your pup if they use the restroom outside. We’ve got plenty of extra doggy bags for you if you run out or forgot yours and there’s a metal trash can outside for them. Finally, please keep your dog on a leash while on property. We have a small, fenced-in dog run next to the studio, and the whole property is fenced in, however, we can’t stop nature from making its way onto the property, and apart from rabbits, there are coyotes and many other beautiful critters that share this land with us.
In the bottom grey basket in the storage and closet cabinet, you’ll find dog bowls, a microfiber mat for their food and water bowls, doggie bags, wipes and a green towel just for them.
LIVING ROOM
Fireplace
There’s a wood-burning stove in this unit. We supply the unit in colder months with two days worth of wood and kindling. We do not have staff on hand to light the fire for you, so please, if you are not comfortable lighting the fire, do not do it.
IMPORTANT: If you are going to sleep, make sure the door to the stove is securely shut - otherwise there is the very real risk of a burning ember or log falling out unnoticed.
Instructions for use:
First, make a base using the smaller sticks (kindling) - we like to make a crosshatch or square.
Place a few pieces of “fatwood” the shinier-looking starters in the base, making sure to leave room for air.
Place two logs across this base, lighting the bottom.
Once the fire is roaring, you can close the door using the handle. If the fire starts to die down, you can open it to let a little air in.
If you are here for a longer stay, there are many places around town where you can buy firewood. Ace Hardware is just down the street and also the Co-op has firewood.
Thermostat
Located to the left of the sink is a temperature dial. That controls the base board heaters near the bed. We keep this off in the summer and on 68 in the winter. Please be patient if you are turning it on and waiting for it to heat up. You’ll see pieces of wood on the bottom edge of the windows - that’s the max you can pull the blinds down without melting them.
Lights
Lights aren’t just great for seeing in the dark, they’re also catnip for bugs, so if you’re here during “windows open” season, it’s a good idea to keep the front door shut. You’ll be amazed at how fast they all try to get inside at night. That being said, we are in the middle of nature, so sometimes little creatures get inside. Don’t be alarmed if one gets in...just put them back outside where they belong.
Bluetooth Speaker
The Bluetooth speaker is plugged in the bookshelf in the built-in couch. When it’s fully charged, you can move it wherever you want without the plug. It’s pretty straightforward to use:
- Rotate the ON/OFF-Volume Knob to turn on the wireless speaker.
- Press the Input Selection Button to select the Bluetooth
- Turn on the Bluetooth feature of your audio device, search for "Crosley CR3028U" and pair.
- Once your device is successfully paired with the wireless speaker, you will hear a short confirmation sound from the speaker.
Closet
In the closet, you’ll find:
- a white noise machine
- a small vacuum for messes
- dog supplies
- a hairdryer and extra hair care products
- a first aid kit w/bandages, advil, alcohol swabs, antibacterial ointment, organic tampons and pads.
BATHROOM
Because Studio Cielito uses well water, in the desert, we ask that you please be mindful of water use while you’re here.
The shower products are by Amika, a female-owned beauty team out of Brooklyn. In the closet, you’ll find a hairdryer if you’re here in the not “dry your hair outside in four minutes” season, Lulu Organics hair powder (like a dry shampoo), Maracuja Milk for Kinks Curls
