  Make reservation through BringFido and was pleased with accommodations. We got the king bed and room was comfortable, clean, and spacious. No bad odors. Breakfast in the AM was hot and good. Plenty of area for walking dogs, easily accessible & supplied with potty bags. Took long hot baths which were enjoyable. Tub was large. I could nitpick like wear shoes. It’s a dog friendly room remember.

  The hotel was clean and staff were friendly and helpful. There were lots of other guests with dogs but you wouldn't have known it. My only complaint was the family of elephants staying upstairs. Maybe install some more insulation between floors.

  Didn't Feel Safe

  Arrived here in the late evening so it was dark. People at the nearby Days Inn stood and watched us unload the trunk. Front desk wanted to know the make and model of our car "in case something happens." I did not feel safe.

  Although the halls are bright, all the doors are really dirty. There is a funny (not nice) smell to the room. The TV is so small you nearly need a magnifying glass to see it. The remote is so slow I wanted to throw it at the tv. The area to walk the dogs is a little scary, as it is not very secure. There are places the dogs can slip under the fenced area, or a wild animal can come into this area.

  Have stayed in several La Quintas with our dog. People are always friendly. This one was clean, close to the entrance and had lots of grass for the dogs to use.

  We had BringFido make the reservation so it was no hassle and everything went smoothly. We got in late so couldn't make the free breakfast which only went from 7 to 9 am. Not long enough for the breakfast to stay open.

  The woman who checked me in was friendly and quite helpful. The first BIG red flag was walking down the hall and seeing many rooms with the doors left ajar (using the big metal swing lock from the inside). When I reached my room I saw that mine was ajar as well. Maybe this is done to inform housekeeping which rooms have been cleaned but it creates a serious safety concern. I was traveling alone and felt uncomfortable going into the room for fear someone was hiding waiting to attack me. A guest room should NEVER be left open and unlocked unless a member of the staff is in the room (cleaning, inspecting, repairing, etc).

  I am not sure if this is a La Quinta property-wide way of leaving cleaned rooms or just this one in particular. Also, the shower wall was very stained where it met the tub and looked as though water had seeped behind the plastic or wood shower enclosure. It looked moldy and I did not feel comfortable taking a bath OR shower there. Much is needed in this hotel including training on safety as well as repairs.

  Best La Quinta on our trip!

  We stayed here on our way home and were very pleased. Jazz, who checked us in around 10:00pm was such a breath of fresh air. She was so kind and welcoming. The hotel was clean and well kept. Our room was also very clean and tidy. Breakfast was good as far as free hotel breakfasts go. We stayed at all La Quinta hotels on our trip and this was by far the best one. Would definitely stay here again!

  A little disappointed

  The folks are friendly at the desk. The bed did not have a blanket, just sheet and top coverlet which was like a sheet. We had an adjoining room and we could hear everything our neighbors were saying. Not a high quality place, but ok.

  Smelly Room

  Very nice and friendly lady checked us (me and 2 Cavaliers) in. Lobby was nice enough. She was very friendly with my pups and asked to pet them. I thought this was going to be a good stay. She gave us a room on the ground floor right next to the side exit and I again thought this was great! I opened the door to our room and it was nicer than I expected for the price. Then it hit me. That dog urine smell!

  It was bad. I immediately went back to the desk and told her and asked for another room. She apologized and gave us another room. Well, the 2nd room had the same dog urine smell. It was almost dark and I had been driving for 7 straight hours and did not want to get back out and try to find another dog friendly hotel and deal with the red tape over cancelling this La Quinta reservation.

  The girl at the desk called her manager who told her that the carpet in all the dog friendly rooms had just been cleaned. I believe this bc I had white socks on and they stayed mostly white. My opinion, they need to just replace the carpet or use something different to clean it with because the smell will be all I remember about this “almost” perfect pet-friendly hotel!

  We had the suite and the extra space was very nice and for not a lot of extra money. Unfortunately several cars were broken into during the night. Advise you park as close to entrance as possible. We’ve stayed here several times over the years and this was the first time something like that has happened.

  Hotel very near I-475 exit, but super quiet and clean. Like new inside. Didn’t get charged extra for Bentley!! Serves light breakfast. Clean room. Provided a list of local food options. Totally stay here again. Not much for walking the dog, but did walk along the grassy side street behind hotel.

  What a lovely place this is. We traveled with 2 big labs and got their largest king room. What a pleasant surprise!! We all had plenty of room and felt right at home! Decor was great and hotel was clean inside and out!! Definitely will stop there again!!

  The hotel is in the process of a major upgrade. It didn’t interfere with our stay, but everything was a little tired. The receptionist was super nice & a true dog person. She greeted everyone’s dog upon check in. We loved that. The beds & pillows were very comfortable. Unfortunately, the pet area was littered with dog poop, in spite of there being a station with poop bags & a poop receptacle. Bad dog owners, but the hotel should clean that area periodically & make owners aware that poop must be picked up. I found a great seafood restaurant about 6 mi. away. Miramar was the name. This is not fried seafood, but wonderfully prepared fresh. I had half a dozen oysters that were small & super tasty. Great place for dinner or just small plates. Would def stay here again.

  Absolutely the worst experience ever! Front desk clerk was snotty, told me she hated her job. Pet friendly hotel, the rooms had pet odors that would make anyone run, including our dog. Left within minutes and enjoyed a wonderful stay down the road at Hampton Suites.

  Not much around property, but nice people

  Stayed at 3 different La Quinta Inns in the past week. The properties were neat, although the first one (which shall remain nameless) had a filthy floor. Walking barefoot from the bed to the shower left me with black water running down the drain. The Macon property was clean, the room spacious, the breakfast hot and delicious (nice to have something other than cold cereal or a waffle as a breakfast offering). But the staff, this is where things got interesting.

  Checked in by Amy, who is an "in your face" ballsy young woman who I would hire in a heartbeat. She obviously knew her stuff as the went about checking in client after client. She was very informative, able to field questions on the fly and make everyone at the counter feel as if she was there only to take care of them - even though she was the only person working the desk. Hope La Quinta keeps an eye on this young lady as she motivated and will quickly move up in this world.

  We had a great overnight with our two labs. The King suite allowed for our dogs to sleep in their crates with plenty of room. Our room was clean and comfortable. The dog walk area was a good size with poo bags & garbage. We would certainly stay here again.

  The biggest turn off for this location and room assigned was that the room had a strong "wet dog" odor to it. Did report it at front desk and she said "I'll make a note of it." No offers to change rooms and we didn't ask. Strong personality at front desk. No doggie treats available and no potty bags on site.

  Well tended dog relief area, pleasant dog friendly reception, warm breakfast options. Easy to find from highway. Basic "suite"... one room with microwave and small fridge. But my husband loved the jacuzzi (more expensive) for his back.

  We traveled on 1/31/22 stopping in Macon Ga so my delayed daughter and dogs could rest. We had a reservation and arrived 2:15 p.m. The hotel was empty, I stated I had a reservation. She replied, check in is at 3. Being caught off I replied, really! Her answer was yes read the sign as she pointed. So we left, had I not already paid we would have drove to another hotel. Did no rooms cleaned and they would have them all finished by 3:00? Rude. That being said, the room was clean when we were finally allowed to check in, and the dogs had a nice space to relieve themselves.

  By far this has been my best hotel stay on a four month road trip. The front desk staff was attentive, the room, the hotel and grounds are clean and well kept. The area feels safe. It was nice to have the option of a real breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausage and hash browns. There were other options as well. I extended my stay by one night and front desk took care of it with ease. I am impressed.

  One night stay on way home. Front desk welcome was best of entire trip, all smiles and friendly! She really wanted to greet our boy and give hum extra love. Room was great, ground floor right by the side exit closest to the dog walk area, which was pretty spacious and mostly cleaned up, especially considering there quite a few a larger dogs on property. It is not the dogs fault that some owners don't pick up.

  We had a pleasant experience. The front desk receptionist greeted us with freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. She was very sweet to our special needs dog. The hotel was clean and comfortable. They do not charge extra for your pet, which is a plus. The area for dogs is a good size and clean; they provide poop bags. I was impressed with their breakfast, which is free and included scrambled eggs, oatmeal, biscuits and gravy, sausage links/patties, bagels/toast, muffins, yogurt, etc. The coffee was very good too. The room was very comfortable and had the amenities we needed. We made use of the refrigerator and microwave, as we needed to keep my dog’s insulin refrigerated and heat up his food. He was happy, and we were happy.

  We really enjoyed our stay here! They were extremely dog friendly and didn’t charge an additional fee which is nice! We had an area to take the dogs out right outside of the nearest entrance/exit from our room! They also supply doggie bags as well. Definitely recommend!

  Pretty good stay. Vending machine wouldn't take my money, and reception only had 1 bottle of water to give me, but all in all a decent stay. We needed somewhere to stay the night with pets in tow, and this fits the bill. Would recommend.

  The room we had was very nice. There was an indoor pool and workout room that were open. There was a large area for dog walking with dog poop bags and trash receptacles. The free breakfast also included eggs, potatoes and link sausages. The staff were very pleasant and informative. The only thing I could find that needed improvement would be the carpet in the room needed a good cleaning.

  Rolled in at around midnight. Check-in was smooth and staff was friendly. We were traveling with our dog to Florida from Indiana and this was about our halfway point. Beds were very soft, comfortable, and clean. Will likely stay here again!

  We stayed at other La Quintas before but this one takes the cake! (Err…. I mean the bone!) We arrived later in the evening and had a friendly check in, a clean room, and a comfy bed. Our doggos had plenty of green space to do their business and they felt very welcomed. We ended up booking the Jacuzzi suite on accident because it was the only king room that was marked “non-smoking” but it turns out the entire hotel is non-smoking. Thanks for a great stay! Woof!

  We were made welcome from the minute we entered the facilities. Our room was on the second floor but elevators were close by. Nice large room with space for dog beds for our 2 goldens. Walking area was large. Only problem was that some other dog owners did not clean up after their dogs. There is a small enclosed area with tables where dogs may be off leash with the owners. Very clean facilities and great hot breakfast.

  Review of 2 separate stays

  Stayed on a Friday night and the room was delightful (5 bones). Stayed the following Sunday night and was assigned a "handicapped" room that was "1 bone" at best. The suitcase stand was missing, the shower drain was partially plugged causing the water to leak all over the bathroom floor, the refrigerator didn't work and when we tried to report these problems we found the room phone was dead. The desk clerk sent a maintenance man who was very friendly but did not speak a word of English. We just ended up using the room as it was.

  Pretty good place in Macon

  Front desk staff is super! There was a decent place to take the dogs outside. My only criticism is provide a nice dog bed. Then my lab doesn’t have to share my bed.

  Update=We have now stayed at this Inn a second time. I am convinced that I will go somewhat out of my way to stay here in the future. Best dog stay hotel I have ever stayed in.

  Nice, clean rooms and staff are friendly and helpful. My dog was comfortable and had plenty of outdoor grassy area to explore. Breakfast was good and rooms have coffee pot, microwave and refrigerator.

  This was a great stop on our way down to Florida. No pet fee, just a simple form at check in. The breakfast was very sub-par, but for the price we paid, we didn’t mind at all! No incidental fees.

  Had arrived at our AirBnb at 7:30pm after driving for 13 hours, exhausted. Then had to leave abruptly an hour later due to an issue. Looked on line, found this LaQuinta was dog friendly and easily made a reservation. What a relief! All the employees were kind and helpful. Room was perfect. Would stay there again in a heartbeat. So grateful.

  Dog Friendly in Macon!

  This is one of the nicer La Quintas in the chain. We had one of the deluxe King suites which was enormous. Lots of places to walk your dog on the property. We did not partake of the free breakfast because we decided to sleep in past 9am (ha ha). Only complaint is that people didn't pick up after their dogs. This is unfortunate since it makes the property look "cheap" and unkempt. La Qunita should have someone clean up a few times a week to help with this issue. (Of course it would be nice if the patrons actually cared enough to pick up after their dogs.)

  We’ve stayed at this property twice now! Breakfast is always great and such a great little open area to start the day, rooms were as expected. Lovely customer service at front desk when checking in and checking out! We will be back :)

  We were traveling between Indiana and Florida (actually moving). Realized we were never going to make it another 360 miles, contacted the hotel via bringfido while on a potty break, had a room, 1st floor, 2 beds. Clean, nice staff, easy access to highway. Would stay again

  Our stay was great. We had our four dogs and they were all welcomed with open arms. The check in lady was great as was our room. There are ample green areas around the hotel to walk the dogs. Probably our new go to on this cross country trek.

  Easy check-in and milk bones and cat treats on the counter for your furry friends! Front desk even asked if we’d had dinner yet and offered suggestions for a nice meal. Great experience for the night!

  When we checked in Amy was amazing. She even did a training exercise with our 9 month old puppy. The only disappointment was that the pool was closed and we didn’t know before hand. Amy also have us a great recommendation for dinner.

  We had a second floor King Suite, spacious and top quality. Next to the stairs (elevator available) leading to a well lighted “relief” area with poop bags. Human amenities (indoor pool, exercise area,) clean. Better than average full breakfast. Easy off I75. Price us right. Go for it.

  I travel between Florida and Tennessee several times a year. I discovered this property as the hotel is pet friendly and I travel with 2 pups. The property is clean and the people are friendly and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone stopping in the Macon, GA area.

  The staff was very dog friendly. it had a bid dog walk area and the waste bag dispenser was full of bags (most everywhere else it's empty). There was a slight urine smell in the room, barely noticeable. Would definitely stay again.

  Staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. My only complaint really is that the Wi-Fi was terrible and the in room coffee maker was not working. Large dog run and if you forget your poop bag they have some there along with a garbage. Great stay.

  It was quiet and clean. The outdoor area needed some poop cleanup due to some irresponsible owners (there were bags just feet away from the poop). The breakfast was even decent. The only thing that could be improved is a nice place to walk around from the hotel. There are no sidewalks so we couldn't do that. The staff was really great when our car needed repairs and we had to stay until the very last minute while it was being fixed. Recommend.

  First floor quick access to grassy area with a fence. Big dogs can even fetch in the back along the fenced in area. Lots of guests with dogs so be ready for dogapalooza. No pet fee, good value. Solid breakfast for the price.
