Description
The Durango KOA sits at an elevation of 7,000 feet with panoramic views of the jagged San Juan Mountains. It's a great base camp for Mesa Verde National Park, but you'll find hiking, biking, fishing, outfitted jeep tours and horseback riding in the area too. Several outfitters even offer guided kayak and whitewater rafting outings on the Animas River, which flows through downtown Durango. The campground has 50 amp service available, and can accommodate rigs up to 100 feet. Other amenities include Wi-Fi, cable TV, pool, snack bar, mini golf, propane and firewood (for a fee), group pavilion. In season, there are nightly ice cream gatherings and free movies too!
