Description
This picnic shelter is located Lake Moomaw which has two fishing docks, two boat ramps, a swimming beach with a bathhouse, and two reservable picnic shelters (including this one) on the Alleghany County side of the lake. Coles Point Picnic Shelter #1 is located in a small opening surrounded by a hardwood forest. It has 8 covered picnic tables on a concrete pad, with several additional picnic tables under the nearby trees. There are two large group barbecue grills and one electrical outlet for small cooking appliances. Flush toilets are also available. The site can accomodate a maximum of 50 people and the parking area will hold about 20 vehicles. The picnic shelter is closed from sundown to sunup. No overnight camping is allowed.
