Tazuru is a ryokan with 130 years history. With easy access for Kawaramachi down town Gion and Pontocho the ryokan stands with surroundings where you feel Kyoto tradition and near Takasegawa a river known to be the setting of a well-known novel Takasebune writen by Jaspanese famous auther Ogai Mori. Indulge yourself in the open air bath with views of mountains in Higashiyama Mt. Hiei and Kamo river. Also small and big banquet rooms are available and treat yourself with your close friends to Japanese cuisine and sake (Japanese alcohol) with murmurs of the brook. From May until Sepsember experience a dining on deck built above the river known as Kawadoko enjoying the nice breeze and river views. All the rooms are Japanese style and make yourself relaxed and comfortable in the traditional atomosphere. 7 min walk from Kawaramachi station on Hankyu line or Gion Shijo station on Keihan line 15 min taxi ride from JR Kyoto station 2 min walk from the bus stop Kawaramachi-Matsubara on Kyoto City Bus No 205 (or No 4) 90 min by Airport limousine bus from Kansai International Airport 50 mib by Airport limousine bus from Itami Airport Gion Pontocho Kenninji Temple Rokuharatandai Kiyomizu Temple Chionin Temple.
