Blue Heron Cottages offers our guests the ultimate in turn key, pet friendly vacationing. Here you will find all you need for your stay of 3 days or 3 weeks or even 3 months. Each of our 6 dog friendly, 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, cottages offer the same floor plan and appointments. Each sleeps up to 4 adults comfortably. You will find a queen sized bed in the separate bedroom and, in the living room, a sectional sofa which converts to a VERY comfortable full queen bed. All linens and towels are provided. The two areas share a jack-and-jill bathroom which can be accessed from either the living room or the bedroom. Each cottage is equipped with 4 sets of towels. The cottages are cooled by ocean breezes, ceiling and movable tower fans. BHC is doing all we can to respond to the needs of our community and maintain a safe environment for everyone. We ask for your cooperation and understanding in advance. NO RESERVATIONS LESS THAN 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE. FACE MASKS MUST BE WORN AND SOCIAL DISTANCING MAINTAINED WHILE IN ALL PUBLIC SPACES. COTTAGES CAN ONLY BE SHARED BY GROUPS THAT HAVE BEEN QUARANTINING TOGETHER FOR AT LEAST TWO WEEKS PLEASE CHECK FOR COVID SYMPTOMS PRIOR TO ARRIVAL Amenities include a fully equipped, chef inspiring, kitchen. In the living room you will find a 40” SmartTV equipped with not only HD cable but also the latest technology to allow you to access Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, Pandora, and various other entertainment Applications. The bedroom has a Smart Technology 32” flat screen TV with HD cable channels, as well as the above mentioned entertainment applications. Additionally, we provide beach towels, beach cruisers, boogie and surf boards, beach chairs, small coolers and sand toys for your use. All our cottages open on to a lovely, fenced-in courtyard. Enjoy the large shared courtyard under the gazebo listening to the wild local parrots as they go about their day. Barbecue with friends and family, toss the ball for your pup, or just relax and soak up the sun in our lounge chairs. The gazebo is the perfect spot to gather and enjoy the evening sea breeze or morning coffee. Although our cottages have ceiling fans, tower fans and access to cool ocean breezes, it can still become uncomfortably hot during an all too common heat wave. So, in order to keep our rental rates lower for all, we have opted to provide portable a/c units for a nominal fee of $10/day,$60/week, or $200/month. If you would like to use a portable a/c unit in your cottage, please contact us ahead of time to have your unit installed and waiting. Or you can see what the weather will bring, and if you need more then the provided fans you can contact our on site manager during your stay. Each cottage comes with one off street parking place suitable for most car sizes. Ocean Beach is an area has a wonderful community feeling. A variety of restaurants, boutiques and antique shops are only four blocks away on Newport Avenue. A beautiful little beach cove perfect for relaxing is only a block and a half away, and the main beach is a short bike ride away at the end of Newport Avenue. While Ocean Beach is not a dense tourist area, but guests enjoy close proximity to all the main San Diego tourist attractions, such as Sea World, San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, Petco Park, the Gas Lamp District as well as the San Diego Airport. Disneyland is approximately two hours away, and Legoland is around an hour drive Blue Heron Cottages requires a 2-night minimum stay, however a 3-night minimum stay is required for Memorial Day weekend, and a 4-night minimum is required for Thanksgiving and winter holidays. A 10.5% San Diego City tax will be accessed on all stays less than 30 days. BHC requires a 50% deposit at time of booking with the balance due 2 weeks before check-in. Reservations less than 2 weeks prior to stay require a full payment at time of booking. If canceling 2 weeks or more prior to your stay you will receive 100% of your deposit minus a $25 processing fee. Less than 2 weeks and we will refund 50% of your deposit minus a $25 processing fee. If canceling less than 48 hours, all monies will be forfeited. All reservations can be rescheduled for a later date with no penalties and all money paid applied to a future visit with no time limits on use. A non-refundable $49 Damage Waiver Fee, which covers up to $1000 in accidental damages, is also required, and guests are responsible for any damages that exceed $1000. There is a cleaning of $125 per stay.
