Apart from being one of the oldest-established guest houses ADLER HÄUSERN Gourmet & Spa Hotel is also one of the most popular holiday hotels in the Black Forest just an hours drive from the shopping capital of Zurich and not far from the Rhine waterfalls in Schaffhausen. The establishment has been in the hands of the Zumkeller family for over 130 years and is now managed in the fifth generation by Winfried and Zita Zumkeller. Informal hospitality, a lot of individual attention, and last but not least, an excellent cuisine honored with a Michelin star without interruptions since 1966 in a range from Baden specialties to gourmet menu have over the years won the Adler many loyal guests. The comfortable and friendly rooms, apartments, and suites in country house style are considered a real holiday home from home by many friends of the Adler. To offer in-house leisure and fitness activities, an extensive pool environment was added to the existing indoor pool in 1995 - with various saunas, Kneipp water-treading basins, and an inhalatorium. It is not just the house itself - with its cozy areas for reading or chatting and the lovely garden with its sun terrace - that facilitates the best of rest and relaxation. Its attractive position in the southern Black Forest provides a perfect leisure environment for boating on the Lake Schluchsee, gentle walks, tennis, invigorating mountain hikes, mountain biking, and a round of golf on one of the six golf courses that are within easy reach. Not to forget the terrific cross-country skiing opportunities in winter. All of which makes the Adler a very well-frequented holiday address.
