    Definitely dog friendly

Very accommodating and if you go in nicer weather, there are plenty of outdoor eating venues. Nice neighborhood for walking the dog around.

Fascinating property but not for dogs

While dogs are welcome to check-in, you cannot bring your dog everywhere in the hotel/property and you are not allowed to leave your dog in the room (you must sign a 10 point agreement) so you can’t fully enjoy the hotel and there is a lot to see, explore, and experience. We stayed in the section of the hotel called The Art House which faced a courtyard where groups of folks gather around fire pits, it was very noisy (folks were having a great time) until well after 11PM. I called to complain, as we were headed out at 5AM the next morning and trying to get some sleep, the front desk said the staff are supposed to shut that area down at 10PM.

Unless you are a night owl, and you and your dog wanna hang out by the fire pits, I wouldn't stay in the Art House section of the hotel. The hotel is on the edge of a suburban neighborhood so there are places to walk your dog. There were several homeless gathering/sleeping spots near the hotel—-no one hassled us during the day but it was different at night so watch out. Parked in hotel parking in the alley and my car was fine overnight but I felt nervous loading up at 5AM as there were random folks hanging out and passing through through the alley. Overall an interesting hotel/property, but for the price $$$ not worth going with your dog as they are not welcome everywhere on the property and you can’t leave them in your room.

    Couldn’t be a better spot

Loved the location in town. Hotel is right across the street from a fenced in field that is primarily a grass field for kids but seems to second as a dog park! The hotel has several dog friendly outdoor areas we could order and eat food, and is only 3 blocks from the river trail. Very cute and eclectic rooms that are quite new (2016). Ended up snowing during our visit that our husky loved!

Will definitely stay again and will look for other hotels in this chain

Traveling in cold snowy November with deminished daylight and Covid was a challenge for finding lodging and meals with a 90-pound poodle. The Old St. Francis welcomed our dog in any space in the hotel that was not serving food. They have several outside food service sites where we were welcome. Even late in the evening one large outdoor space was warmed with several large fireplaces. Located in center of Old Bend within easy walking of shops and breweries which all welcomed out dog.

    Great Hotel With Character

Always wanted to stay at a McMenamins and Old Francis didn’t disappoint. The rooms were nice and quiet and fairly spacious. Dogs were allowed in all the common areas of the hotel and the outside patios. Staff was super friendly and always willing to bring out a water dish for our pup. We will be back!
