CABIN: The 1800 sq ft 2-story Craftsman lodge-like home located at 5500' is beautifully furnished in Northwood's lodge style. Wildlife themed decor fills every room. Creative use of wood throughout the open floor plan contributes to it's warm ambience. Stained glass windows hang above a unique curving stairway leading downstairs to 'the Attic'. Dual-paned windows provide comfort in all seasons. At night with all the lights aglow Rocky Top positively radiates warmth and beauty.
DECK: 500 sq ft 2nd story main deck with gas BBQ and hammock offers lovely views of San Emigdio mountain to the north and grand sunsets over Apache Saddle. With a lockable gate and wire screen overlay the deck is KID FRIENDLY. At ground level below the deck is a 6'x30' wire-enclosed dog run.
FULLY EQUIPPED KITCHEN with gas range/oven/cast iron griddle, dishwasher, microwave, pantry, new Cuisinart Pro stainless steel pots/pans, utensils galore, bakeware, coffee maker and grinder, waffle iron, blender, popcorn popper, electric ice cream maker, juicer, toaster, electric griddle, food processor and glassware for every occasion (Irish coffee, sundaes, wine, champagne and more). Realtree camo dishes and deer antler flatware make every meal a special event
YOU'LL FEEL PAMPERED in the spacious BATHROOM. A Kohler soaking tub (with shower), a wall of mirrors above the two basins, large dressing table, a welcome bear, chocolate and green plush cotton towels, Basic Earth Botanicals soaps and shampoo give the room a spa-like feel
MALLARD'S RETREAT BEDROOM - has a Cal King bed, glider/rocker with ottoman, two spectacular stained glass windows above the bed (Mallard's of course!), ceiling fan, electric wall heater and ducks, ducks everywhere. Sliding glass doors open to a faux wood concrete patio with a table and two comfortable wicker rockers to sit under the pines, sip a glass of wine and watch the comings and goings at the bird feeder
ANGLER'S REST BEDROOM - A plush Queen bed and a twin futon sofa for child; two rocking chairs with footstools and reading lamps; a 19'' LED flat screen satellite TV with HDMI, USB; DVD/VHS player; an electric wall heater keeps the room comfortable when temperatures drop. A portable crib and high chair are in the closet
"BEAR'S ATTIC' downstairs is a 600 sq ft combination DEN/GUEST ROOM with bears in abundance. (It probably should have been called a family room, but with all those bears we had no choice but to call it a DEN!!!) It has a slate top pool table; comfortable sofa and recliner; 40'' Dish satellite TV; DVD/VHS player; a drop-lid writing desk; a LAUNDRY ROOM with washer/dryer. Cozy up with a good book from our library in the reading corner tucked beneath the stairway..and..be sure to visit our WILDLIFE RESCUE CORNER with cuddly critters for the younger guests to befriend.
It also doubles as a 3RD BEDROOM with a Full/Twin bunk bed and a beautiful Aspen log twin daybed. It is easily closed off from the den for privacy via floor-to-ceiling draperies. A charming HALF BATH is close by with a separate SHOWER ROOM. A Thelin Parlour pellet stove keeps the room comfortable in winter. A separate entrance suits big kids and adults alike
NO SMOKING, open fires or charcoal allowed on the property. We are in a national forest with the ever-present danger of fire
VILLAGE CENTER with a market, retail stores, restaurants, a pub, fitness center, hair salon, US Post Office, and more offers convenience in an Alpine setting. Eateries include Italian, American, Mexican restaurants, cafes, a bakery, pizzeria and an ice cream parlour. If going out for a drink is your thing, there is a local pub.

ROADS: Well paved roads make it an easy drive from the I-5 to Pine Mountain. The roads in this private community are well maintained by the Club. However, at a mile high altitude, weather can change quickly in the mountains so CHAINS and/or a 4WD would be necessary in winter.
NEARBY: Within a short drive you will find museums (Ridge Route, Fort Tejon), antiquing, off-road recreation (McGill Trail, Hungry Valley SVRA), Lake Pyramid for boating/waterskiing, shopping (Outlets at Tejon just a skip and and hop down I-5)
Surprisingly there is always the right amount of things to do (or not do) for any stay! Sip your morning coffee on the deck or drink your evening wine while gazing up into the star-filled night sky. Your Rocky Top mountain cabin and miles of national forest to discover is waiting.
As Soon As You Arrive You Will Feel the Peace Settle Over You Like a Comfortable Blanket
