We really enjoyed our stay, small but comfortable rooms, great location and very dog friendly. $35 overnight parking less than a block away. Friendly staff!

There are no frills at this hotel, but the staff is VERY nice, and they are incredibly dog friendly. It is a historic hotel and the rooms are basic, but everything was clean and the pups had a good time (that is what counts!).

This hotel was horrible!! Parking was a block away and no one offered any assistance to hold my luggage or even help me seeing that I had a wagon and 3 pups. No pet relief area close. You had to walk a block and I was told that they couldn't relieve themselves in front of the hotel! At 2am in the dark in a place that I didn't know you want me to walk a block away in the dark...really??? This experience was so bad it makes me never want to visit San Francisco again!!

Our check-in and check-out were super smooth and the staff that we interacted with were incredibly friendly and helpful. Especially with navigating Covid-related protocols and changes.

Cartwright Hotel was a cute, well-kept boutique hotel but there was nothing distinguishing it as a pet friendly hotel - It was like checking into any other hotel - there were no dog water bowls in front - I didn't see any treat bowls at the front desk - and not a single staff member acknowledged my dog, in fact the staff seemed scared and perplexed to why a large (110#) dog was walking about the hotel - the guest at the hotel did find it quite charming to encounter a dog during their stay so that was an enriching experience - the room itself again, was cute and clean, but there was nothing available in the room that was tailored to accommodate my dog - bottom line, the rate was reasonable, and the No Fee for Pet policy is a good incentive to stay here but I wouldn't expect more than that.
