This hotel is beautiful on the outside, but inside rooms and hallways is very old, musty, and run down. Staff is very nice.

    Room was a little shabby

Smelled of cigarettes. Not a nice as the 1st time we stayed here. I would stay again, just a little disappointed with the condition of the room this time.

    Good stay

Nice hotel and grounds. Did encounter ONE roach in the room and no refrig and microwave in the room but all in all quite adequate and very amenable where pets were concerned.

    Staying with Mo

Loved everything about the stay. My only complaint would be that being on the 2nd floor with a dog and baggage was a little difficult, otherwise no complaints.

    Carpets on first two floors

We were placed on the second floor, which is fine since there are elevators there, but there was carpets everywhere except the lobby, elevators and the bathroom. The stairs even had carpet, which was weird. There were two elevator (one in front and one in the back). They have a little pond to walk around, but they didn't have any bags to pick up with even though they had a sign with a bag container. (The container was full of fuzzy caterpillars.) Luckily, we had some in the vehicle so one of us could walk the dogs and the other grab bags.

    Not Clean

We stayed here for 2 nights. On night 1 the AC went out for 3 hours. We found someone else’s food left in our fridge, torn up carpet, mold on the ceiling and damaged cabinets. I’ve stayed in a lot of La Quinta Inns but this one was by far not up to par.

Stayed here in late Aug 2021 on my drive to MA. The room was disgusting. Bugs crawling around and stains on the floor. The only reason we stayed was I was so tired. Will never stay here again.

Room was clean and area perfect! Bed was comfortable. Would go back without hesitation. Have been in other La Quinta hotels and this one was the best by far.

Hotel staff was nice, but building seemed old. Room was clean. Our dog stayed in the room with no issues.

    Good First Experience

This was our first time using BringFiido and bringing our dog into a motel room. Worked out fabulously. Check-in experience was quick and easy. Room was clean and as advertised. And our little girl was on good behavior! Will do again.

    Quick overnight

Hope we don’t have to go back. The room stunk of sweat and stale smoke. The front desk gave us some air freshener when we complained. Bed was ok.

    Not so good

We were out in a connecting ADA room. The bathroom was filthy and all the drains had a horrible smell.
The hotel itself was very dirty. The welcome mat in the lobby looked like it had not been cleaned in a while. Dirty doors, carpets etc. Glad it was only one night.

    Nice hotel for dog

    They provided poop bags outside
    Plenty of grass around
Only issue was it’s rather crowded area and no sidewalk so you walk in street or on grass

    Close to dog park

We came here to go to Dogwood Park specifically and stayed 2 nights. The hotel is only 2 miles or 7 minutes from the park. There are plenty of restaurants a short drive away. It's in an area with a bunch of other hotels. The hotel and room were adequate: safe and comfortable. You can walk your dog around the outside. The service at the front desk wasn't the friendliest and there was no grab and go breakfast although there was a bucket of butter out which leads me to believe they offered breakfast not too long ago. And there was a sign on the door that said the pool was open limited hours, however, it was filthy with tree branches and dirt in it. They have no pet fee which is nice. It served the purpose but will not Wow anyone!

    Great Locatiom

I was very satisfied with my stay at this location. It was clean and convenient to my needs. My fur baby did very well during his stay. My wish would be that other pet owners would clean up after their pets too (: Would definitely stay here again.

I understand cutbacks due to Covid but this place had a filthy lobby and hallways. Ice machines broken and less than hospitable desk agent. Was really disappointed with the stay.

    Sep. 26, 2020

everything is dirty. the hallway, carpets, elevator, shower, lamp shades. Did not feel comfortable taking my shoes off in the room. the shower and sink took 15 minutes just to get hot. the room had a dingy wet odor to it. the tv was freezing up and flashing. the landscaping on the property looks like they haven’t trimmed any of the trees in years. just a gross place over all. DO NOT RECOMMEND. I would leave a 0 star review if I could.

    Great stay!

Not the cleanest, and it smelled like dog for sure but the front clerk was the sweetest ever when I arrived and so accommodating. The room was a great size and my pups and I had a great sleep before a long drive. Plan on staying when I pass through again!

    Needs Remodel

Elevator and stairway are dirty. Hall way carpet disgusting. The sink drain in our room was blocked. The shower was older and dingy. Only two treadmills in the exercise room and both were broken. Do not recommend.

    Pitbull Friendly

We brought our pit and everything went fine. Probably saw about 8-10 other dogs at staying there also. There was a large area for dogs to use the bathroom out front.

    Easy access

The staff was pleasant. No pet fee which was nice. The room was very old, needed a good cleaning, carpet and paint. Not very soundproof. Cracker Barrell Restaurant right behind the hotel.

This was a very nice spot. The front desk staff were very friendly & accommodating. It seemed to be a very popular spot to bring Fido, lots of Fidos! The room was very clean & up-to-date. I was surprised to see carpet. It was bright & comfortable & included free breakfast in the lobby. I’d definitely stay again.

    A Night in Jacksonville

The La Quinta is perfect for those travelling with pets. Near enough to fast food and right next door to the Cracker Barrel. They are very easy going, the rooms are simple (best for those who are concerned about pets), clean and an entire floor of folks who understand that dogs will bark with noises they don't recognize.

    It did the needful

I appreciate the access to the room was via an interior corridor and a key card was required to enter the bldg. I did not see a large designated area for relieving our dog. There were small grassy landscaped areas near the entry door. We were only there overnight it was raining and we did not explore the grounds.
The staff did not have any interaction with our dog nor did they act like they had the desire to do so, so I cannot comment on that.
The room seemed clean, there was some minor surface damage to the wall in the bedroom (not fixed) and bathroom (that was shoddily fixed). The carpet felt tacky but I always bring flip flops for this reason.
The bed was not very comfortable so I did not sleep well.
The tv had limited selection of channels that kept freezing up.
The a/c worked well which we appreciate.
I could hear a yippy dog across the hall. Our dog is very quiet.
I can only assume the rooms on the bottom floor are dog rooms and not as nice as the top level rooms.
All in all it was not too costly, no pet fee and we were safe so it did the needful.

    A great stay!

We were traveling home from NC and just couldn't drive anymore. We booked this La Quinta when we were an hour away after having luck with others in the past. The check in was easy and lobby appeared to be newer. Very nice. The rooms are very clean and well kept, even though the furniture is a little dated. It was an extremely comfortable bed and very quiet. In the morning, they offered a standard breakfast (good coffee) and there were many green spaces to walk our dog. This was a safe area with lots of other chain hotels. Close to 95 so it is an easy on and off!

    Great hotel. Awesome location.

Dog wood Park just 2 miles away. Hannah Park in Atlantic Beach (pet-friendly all of the time,) and some of the greatest food in the south is just to the north on University Avenue- Piccadilly Cafeteria. Piccadilly isn't pet-friendly, so if it is hot, it means to-go food. The food is awesome and affordable.
