  Forget it!

  Hotel was in desperate need of updating. Supplies were scarce or non existent. Front desk staff was unwelcoming. There was trash littered on the grounds. Fido was not happy here. I would not recommend it to anyone.

  A bit worn but good overall

  Stayed here precovid and was pleased. Needs replenishment of kitchen supplies and appliances. Wonderful place to walk a dog.

  Outdated and lacks cleanliness

  You truly get what you pay for — a pet friendly room right off the highway for an affordable rate. That’s it!
  The room and entire interior of the hotel is outdated and not does reflect the pictures shown. The fridge had small hairs throughout, the garbage disposal did not work so the sink backed up with water, multiple stains on the towels + linens + chairs + couch. An overall uncomfortable stay with a family of two children under 3 and 2 dogs.

  Unfortunate

  The staff was great, but the accommodations were not. Our room likely was only in service as hotel was fully booked. The bathroom was missing a drawer and the only lotion was a small half used bottle. The dresser was missing a drawer, the garbage disposal was broken, the floor was sticky, and all of the dishes were in dishwasher ( unsure if clean). The only bright spot was bed was clean and fairly comfortable. Not sure if other rooms are better, but ours was not good.

  Great location, very dog friendly

  This hotel was great for us. We have two dogs and were using this as a stopover on our way to Florida. It is just of I95, so very convenient. The hotel welcomes dogs and the staff is very nice and accommodating. The hotel is a bit dated, that is the only reason I didn’t give it 5 bones. The beds were comfortable, the ac worked great and the dogs were comfy.

  Great location

  We were passing by on our way to North Carolina, coming from the Florida keys. Great location. But on the road I had to call the hotel to verify my card, which the hotel didn’t have in updated phone, so I had to search that, which is ok, but my cell reception is not the best on the road. Got that done, super friendly staff at the front desk. Room was not that clean, it had carpet in the majority of the room, which would have been fine if the room was clean.

  We got second floor, which is not the best for dogs, as they normally don’t like elevators, but whatever. My bad for not requesting ground floor. My dog is well behaved, but this hotel didn’t fill out my expectations, it was loud at night, and for us humans and a dog it didn’t deliver the good night sleep we were looking for. And the next day I also got a call saying that my credit card number had been stolen. Last transaction I used it was in this hotel. So I wouldn’t recommend it, despite all the good reviews.

  Frequent traveler, and an IHG member. Overpriced and under-serviced. The room was dirty, stunk, and the hotel didn't honor our requests. There are quite a few other options in the area, and you should select one of them. My mistake, should have reviewed the recent TripAdvisor reviews before booking.

  Nice, comfortable rooms for great price with helpful staff

  It's about a 15-20 minute drive downtown You have a nice grocery store nearby should you need to just get something close. The hotel also sells a number of things in their lobby.

  Needs a little update. The wall in the bathroom was crumbling, no tissues, no cups or bowls in the kitchen.

  Great location

  unfortunately the location was the only positive thing about this place. It was very dated. Overpriced and not at all what we expected as we have stayed at other Candlewood hotels. Upon arrival to our room , I entered the bathroom and immediately saw dried up dog poop on the floor from the previous guests which made me very uncomfortable about staying in a room that wasn’t cleaned.

  This hotel is in a nice location. A lot of room to walk and explore. The suite was nice since it had a mini fridge, microwave and stove.

  Disappointing Stay

  We frequent Candlewood hotels and this location was very disappointing in comparison. We hesitated to touch things in the room as they appeared dirty. The microwave, clock, and room air conditioning was not working. Also, the tv remote was not provided and the disposal had visible food left inside from previous guests. We stayed one night with our family and wish we would have chosen one of the other dozen hotels located around this establishment.

  Nice location- smelly room

  I do not normally post negative reviews. However our experience was not so good and then good. We arrived late after a five hour drive. I booked ahead online and requested a pet friendly king room. Check-in was very easy and the staff was great. However, when we opened the door to our room we were hit with an overwhelming smell of a very dirty dog. We found a French fry with ketchup on the kitchen floor, the bedroom door jam was broken so the door would not close, and when we pulled out the PCs bed there was literally garbage under it (soda bottle, saline solution, wrappers, candy, and a straw). There was also garbage under the king bed but not as much.
  Ok, so it’s our bad for not saying anything immediately but we arrived late and we’re tired.
  The next morning we asked the front desk if we could change rooms and without hesitation, we were put in another room that was clean and smelled really good! So the good needed up outweighing the bad. However, our dog’s bed smelled of the stinky room for the rest of our trip.

  The location was nice, with an easy drive to the grocery store. We felt safe and secure at the hotel. The parking lot was well lit and there was a nice area by a little lake to walk our dog.
  I do want to say the staff was very friendly and helpful. It’s just too bad the cleaning of the dog friendly room was sub-par as it makes me hesitant to book at this hotel chain again.

  Poor Value, Tired & Worn Property

  I was very disappointed in my stay at Candlewood Suites Savannah Airport. While I would classify it as a "budget value" property, and did not have luxury property expectations, I was disappointed to find that when I opened the door to my room I was hit with overwhelming mildew odor and the sound of the bathroom fan. I arrived late in the evening after a 7 hour drive, so I just opted to try to live with it by opening the window. I then realized the bathroom fan was probably left running by the cleaning staff in an attempt to address the mildew problem. By morning I was coughing as though I had smoked a pack of cigarettes, and I have been sick for the 5 days since my stay. In addition to the mildew, there were gouges in the walls, the toilet wouldn't stop running, and the rug was dirty. The room is equipped with a system that turns off the HVAC when the room is empty, which is probably how the mildew problem started and continues to thrive. All in all - - one of the worst lodging experiences I've had in 20+ years of travel.

  Great price

  Two nights with pet fee was about $300 and they only charged us for 1 night of pet fees. We had the 1 bedroom suite which i highly recommend. Full size fridge, dishwasher, microwave and stove. Shower had plenty of hot water. Biggest complaint was the bed was rock hard. The pillows are small and thin but ive had that at other hotels so i brought my own. Tried to use pull out sofa since bed was so awful and there were no sheets for it so couldnt. We turned in dirry towels and got new ones without any problem. The curtains block out all the light. We were on end by stairs and it was auiet. Never had an issue getting elevator as were on upper floor and had dog in stroller. Staff was friendly. No breakfast which we knew but sucks. Didnt bother to use pool or gym. A decent amt of parking but does fill up by night. We were able to see car from room which we liked. No designated area for dogs to potty but small grassy area between parking lot and road which served to be just fine. No bugs and i always strip the bed and inspect it. Room needed a good deep clean. Weird large obvious stain by front door and small stains on walls throughout. Had not swept under desk or vacummed under couch as laying on floor with dogs noticed obvious food/crumbs. For the price i would recommend but the bed was too hard for me so would look elsewhere or bring foam cover.

  We stayed at this hotel recently with our two dogs. It is very clean and the staff is extremely helpful. Couldn't ask for much more - would definitely stay there again.
