  No Room at the Inn

  We booked in Aug for Dec 31 and Jan 1 and received an email confirmation. When we arrived on Dec 31 after a 4 hour drive, we found we were not expected and the Inn was rented out to a family. The staff found us a room but it was like intruding on a private family event so we would be confined to it and the room was too small for the dogs to even lie down. The owner texted and tried to offer options - stay at Best Western for Dec 31 (not our idea of the idyllic evening we had hoped for, and never easy with the dogs) then stay an extra night (not possible with our work schedules). In the end we just drove
  the 4 hours straight back home in the dark and had our worst ever New Years Eve! I hope everyone enjoys their stay there with their pups but I STRONGLY STRONGLY recommend you call and confirm your booking verbally to avoid our nightmare.

  Not our cup of tea

  The reviews were very good but in our experience, well below expectations. It was not as described, we decided not to stay. I feel the location is not great, property too antiquated. If you want to get the dog out for a walk or hike, need to drive somewhere. In general, nice people but the place itself disappointing.

  Dog and people heaven!

  A truly relaxing and low-key place in a beautiful natural setting in the Berkshires. The owners and guests all seem to love dogs! My dog Mira and I have stayed here several times over the last few years. We particularly appreciate the spacious grounds to walk and romp around, the waterfall and the stream. Mira loves to drink out of the stream, and sniff out all of the rabbits too! I love sitting outside, listening to the waterfall with a book or some friends, just relaxing and recharging. This place is a gem! It's also close to SO MANY things to do, places to hike and swim, etc. There are good restaurants, cafes and a natural foods grocery store 5 minutes away. Mira and I will be back, and recommending it to all of our friends with dogs!

  Great place!

  This 200-year-old Shaker building is right next to a fast-running brook with small waterfalls. Very friendly and pet friendly. Great!

  Beautiful place great for dogs!

  Jasper and I visited this place in Feb 2022. Now we are regulars. This is a historical shaker location with a cascading waterfall right outside the sitting room. There is a pond in addition to the falls that my dog loved to play in. The guests and workers are laid back and kind. Would definitely recommend this place for travelers with pets!
