  I paid for this?

  Filthy bathroom, whole place smelled of cigarettes, broken blind in window, air conditioning kept breaking, mold in the bathroom, moldy shower curtain.

  Terrible

  Very sketchy place, also very dirty. When I walked into the lobby it smelled like marijuana, I decided to check my room in the other building and I could see windows that were blocked by mattress and garbage. Inside there was garbage laying around the halls. In the room there was stains all over the bed and towels. Smelled too. I did not feel safe at all and left right away.

  Didn't even stay

  We've stayed here before so I was eager to book again. Saw that there was a weight restriction so I called the hotel to verify. They couldn't decide how much money to charge for an 80lb dog. There was an obvious language barrier. Very disappointed as this is a decent hotel normally.

  AWFUL

  Terrible neighborhood, hallways smelled like stale beer, pool wasn’t open, no place for dogs to safely go to the bathroom, shower curtain was disgusting, hair on pillow case, towels had ‘stuff’ on them and looked like was used & put back; missing desk chair, no soap dish, no conditioner, no regular coffee, incredibly noisy area, cars not staying at hotel ‘meeting’ in the parking lot! SO GROSS!!! None of La Quintas I’ve ever stayed were this HORRIBLE much less any other hotel I’ve ever stayed at!!!

  Just so-so

  Don’t really like having carpet in pet friendly rooms. Not much grass for pets to use the bathroom but they did have bags and trash cans in the small grass area. The grass area is between the parking lot and a street as well, so that’s a little scary.

  Hard pass

  The carpeting in building G was full of mildew and stank. We opened the door to our room and were overpowered by the smell of pet urine. Thankfully, we had Lysol and other cleaning supplies. We paid over $200 for this experience. NEVER AGAIN! I would recommend BringFido drop this hotel location. Worst La Quinta experience ever!

  Fine only because they are dog friendly

  The front desk was friendly, but the entire hotel smelled like cigarettes despite being non-smoking. There were barking dogs and the room next door to us had shouting matches in the middle of the night. The room was relatively clean, but the rest of the hotel was not. We would not stay here again.

  Absolutely disgusting

  There are no words to describe what we walked into not once but twice after getting put in a new room. I didn't get to fully inspect the first room but I don't think I needed to. I have never IN MY LIFE stayed at a La Quinta this bad! We already noticed the area was VERY sketchy when we arrived. The hallways and rooms smell like nothing but cigarettes and pot. The poor condition of this hotel it should honestly be shut down. It was OUTRAGEOUSLY DISGUSTING and somehow they still wouldn't give me my money back. We also found some bottles of empty pills under the bed and their was something inside we didn't bother figuring out what was inside it. The bathroom was also unbelievably disgusting so bad I had my husband get my cleaning supplies out of our uhaul so I could clean the bathroom enough to take a quick shower. Also, we couldn't go anywhere else it was 2am and everywhere was booked or was not pet friendly. It is not allowing me to post all these disgusting photos after this is posted I will figure it out! Also forgot to add the people next to us were arguing about money to get high.

  Convenient to highway

  Good location, All that you need to sleep and have breakfast en route to your final destination. Needs updating but no complaints. Food good at bar next door.

  Mixed review

  We requested dog friendly and handicapped accessible room. The bathroom was super handicapped accessible, the bed linens were new and lovely, same with towels. However, the hotel is being renovated and it isn't quite ready for visitors yet. Hallways are dingy, paint is chipped in the rooms which have furnishings from several previous eras. The price reflected the state of the hotel, low, but it might be a good idea to warn visitors of the renovation in progress. The parking is very tight if you are pulling even a small UHaul trailer. Single vehicle parking only.

  Awful

  They are obviously fixing up this La Quinta inn because there were trucks everywhere and they were re-roofing but not with standing that, the whole place smells terrible my floor felt wet and the landscaping outside was all overgrown weeds. I am a single female and didn’t feel safe outside walking my dog. A very bad experience. I usually like La Quinta inns, this was a bad exception.

  Bad neighborhood

  Do not recommend this hotel. Giant bar in parking lot with hundreds of patrons loitering in the hotel parking lot. Posted to take valuables with you. Ended up not staying and drove an additional 2 hours on top of already driving 12 hours that day to Des Moines to a safer pet-friendly La Quinta.

  Under construction, not an excuse for filth

  Reading some older reviews I have to say I think the place has cleaned up a bit, meaning I only saw two needles outside and the hallways don’t smell like urine. Seems like there are new owners and the building is under construction. Fine. Our room was still dirty, toothpaste on the sink, thick dust on the outlets, clearly they just change sheets and touch up between guests. It’s a one night stay and we were so road worn when we got here that we’re just going with it, but I wouldn’t recommend it at all. This place has a long way to go before I’d feel comfortable staying here again.

  It was a place to sleep, which is all we really needed

  But there were some things that could have gone better. Upon arrival we were given keys to a room that had not yet been cleaned. They placed us in a new room pretty quickly, but didn’t give us the keys and we had to wait a while to get keys before we were able to leave the room. Whatever cleaner they use is extremely potent and we had to crack the window to air the room out a bit. The neighborhood is a little rough and there were people yelling outside our window (which was upsetting to our dog) and a while later there were police officers in the parking lot shining lights in vehicles. Lastly, the hotel is under construction, which is completely understandable… just wish they would have waited until a little later in the day to start using the power tools.

  Poor Room Condition

  Room was not well cleaned and poor condition. Daily room cleaning did not occur during our stay. Returning after a day out and the hallways had an odor of fuel or petroleum & smell of smoking. Door swing security guard lock was removed. Did not feel safe and would not return or recommend to anyone. Look elsewhere.

  Hallways were very soiled and room was very dark I cleaned the room tabletops and found lots of dirt. No breakfast served.

  It was clean but needed much updating. We felt very uncomfortable from the moment we got there and thought about other options. The puppies couldn't wait to leave.

  I would give a ZERO if I could

  Where do I start. This hotel is HORRIBLE!!!! The first red flag was the number of sketchy people in the parking lot standing around. The second red flag was during check-in when I was asked to keep a sign in my car showing I had paid to stay. And it went down hill from there. The dog area was so covered in trash that I couldn't take a step without stepping on something and the dogs refused to do their business because they were too busy smelling all the garbage. I had to walk a half mile down the road to find a clean place for them. Once back at the hotel, we walked to our room and the entire hotel smells of marijuana covered up with cheap floral air freshener. The room stunk and felt dirty. I am pretty sure the parking spot in front of my room was the drug pick up spot because one car after another pulled in a for a few minutes, blared their music, then left. Shortly after another car would do the same thing. I counted 5 cars in a 15 minute period come and go - this went on until 5am. The dogs could not sleep because of the constant noise and banging on walls and doors. I gave up on sleep at 6am and walked out the building door to leave and was greeted by 3 people standing in front of the door because "they lost their key and needed in". If you value you and your pets safety, i would NOT stay at this hotel. My words could never describe how absolutely horrible this hotel was. La Quinta should be ashamed of themselves.

  Horrible hotel!!

  This was truly the most horrible hotel experience I have ever had. Our room was filthy (stained sheets, hair everywhere, yellow liquid in the sink, a broken toilet and lock), there were people smoking right outside the hotel door and up against our first-floor window. The hallway smelled extremely strongly of urine and smoke, someone accosted my partner in the hallway for money, and someone tried to break into our room, all within the first hour of our arrival. A ton of men in cars without license plates were gathered in the back of the parking lot, and there were quite a few (8 or 9?) young girls crammed into one room near the door where it looked like they lived long-term, drawing profanities on the sidewalk leading up to the hotel door. We promptly left and found new accommodations for the night, but if you value cleanliness and safety--and especially if you have allergies that would be triggered by strong cigarette smoke--I would recommend you stay literally anywhere else. Would've given a zero star review if I could.

  eh..

  i’ve stayed at better... the carpet was dirty and had stuff all over it that could have been picked up with a vacuum. one of the double beds had mascara on it... it’s like the room wasn’t even cleaned. some woman waiting in line at the front office was talking about someone doing PCP so yeah, it didn’t feel super safe as a lone traveling girl... wish i would have spent the extra $50 and gone somewhere nicer.

  Dirty sad hotel

  This La Quinta was dilapidated and unclean. Paint peeling, carpets stained, furniture old and overused. The sink in the bathroom was not clean - looked liked there was urine in the sink and the spigot was sticky. It did not inspire confidence that the rooms were being sanitized using proper guidelines during the COVID 19 pandemic. We left and found new accommodations - the Marriott Bonvoy in midtown formerly the Westin Element

  Older hotel but amazing staff, superb price and easy access

  Josh at the front desk was amazing. He was super friendly and courteous, gave me a doggy bag with treats for the pup and made sure we had a room close to a door for ease of access. It’s an older hotel, but I’ll stay again because of Josh and the good location and price.

  Wonderful stay

  We were so pleasantly surprised at the great check-in staff, clean hotel, clean and comfy room and necessities. We loved it and our dog loved it! We’d go back for sure. Great value!

  As most La Quinta's this one was pretty outdated, which really isn't a huge deal to me, but the room didn't seem fully cleaned to me. Not sure if it literally wasn't clean or if it was just so old that it could be made to look any cleaner? I arrived after the sun had set and was a little sketched out by the location initially. After seeing it in day light the next day I wasn't as creeped out, but it was an interesting location. My pup didn't seem to hate the place (it was her first time in a hotel), she barked at every noise which made for a 'ruff' night, but she tends to be protective of me in new and unfamiliar places. They did provide dog poop bags out in the grass which I thought was really helpful. Overall it was a fine stay and the bed was comfortable, but I think this location is in desperate need of some renovations.

  Horrible

  This place was frightening. We pulled up and my husband went in to grab the room keys while the three of us and the dogs waited in the car. While we waited there were people roaming around outside. In and out of the buildings and around the parking lot throwing trash in the grass. Each building entrance was lettered and we drove around until we could find our corresponding letter. My husband went in to check things out as we were all a little spooked. The outer door was not locked and wouldn’t latch. He said, “The rooms are clean, but we aren’t staying here.” Definitely a bad vibe and unsettling. We left and stayed somewhere else.

  Watch your step

  The staff were very friendly and the hotel gives you a bag with a treat for your pup and poop bags when you check in (and of course they have a jar of treats behind the counter for super curious dogs like mine). The hotel itself was clean and comfortable and mostly quiet (we couldn’t hear the highway) although the doors are paper thin. Watch where you step if you walk your dog in the grassy areas behind the hotel though. There is poop everywhere (which isn’t the hotel’s fault but lazy owners since the hotel gives you bags on check in AND there are “poop stations” with bags and a garbage in the front and back of the hotel). Otherwise our stay was fine.
