  Bad check-in experience

  Room we were given had not been cleaned at all. 2nd room was okay but neither fridge nor microwave worked well. Otherwise adequate, especially for the price.

  Beware

  Stray dogs living in back parking lot made it horrible; they charged me and my dog every time we left the room. I had to leave the hotel to go to a gas station down the road so my dog could go to the bathroom. The room was moderately clean. It was on the backside of the hotel by train tracks; didn't bother me but may if you are a light sleeper. The cable and wifi worked for about 30 minutes and then didn't work the rest of the night. As a solo traveler didn't exactly feel the safest especially being on the backside of the hotel. The staff was not friendly but not rude, just kinda there. I am avoiding this hotel if I ever needed one in this area again

  Comfortable Stay

  Check-in was quick and straight forward. Upstairs room. Nice sized room with TV, fridge, hair drier, small microwave and coffee maker. They have very strict rules for noise and people just hanging out in the parking lot. My only complaint, and has nothing to do with Red Roof Inn, was that I was leaving very early the next morning and went to bed early. At some point some child of the people staying in the next unit came banging on my door a couple of times. Other than that, everything else was fine. There are washers and dryers also there in case you need to do some laundry.

  Terrible Bed

  The coverlet looked stained. The walls, etc. Looked very worn. The bed was terrible. Thin, lumpy mattress. The vending machine had two items in it and the clerk said I could get snacks at the gas station next door. The breakfast was waffles, packaged muffins, cereal, juice, coffee. I did not see milk for the cereal. Would not stay here again

  Great location

  The room was very clean! The pet relief area was ok. The check-in was easy. Was very happy with our stay. Would definitely recommend this Red Roof.

  Pretty Ruff

  Room was pretty beat up. There were 2 stray dogs living in the parking lot and it’s hard to walk your dog without interaction. If I had to do it again, I’d stay at the Roadway across the street.

  The only bad thing was the pricklers from the weeds in the gravel; those are a plague everywhere.

  East freeway access but needs help

  The place had some pluses but overall needs work. The check-in staff were friendly. Unfortunately the room looked clean but surface areas were gritty especially the bathroom, and the floor was unclean. After my shower my husband noticed the bottom of my feet were very dirty. Not good. No plugs next to either side of bed. The bed was comfortable and clean. No dog areas all gravel or asphalt. The pool was a mess, painted plaster peeling. Many reviewers complained about the trains, which almost every hotel along Highway 40 is near the train tracks. Heard them but not enough to keep us awake.

  Slimy soap and dirty washcloth left from previous guests

  The title says it all. Avoid rooms towards the back of the hotel because it’s next to an active train track, and those freight trains are looooong!

  Sketchy neighborhood, nothing close by

  Room was ok. WiFi was weak. No pool, no breakfast (granola bar + orange). Beds were not great. Ok place to walk the dog.

  The room was clean & comfortable. Unfortunately, the dog relief area is rock, not grass, & my pooch needs grass. The coffeemaker did not work & the smoke detector was missing.

  They take pets, the room was clean. While the doors open out, the room was on the second floor, near a stairwell. The additional noise kept Fida up. But the big thing is there was no grass of any kind, and just some small patches of pebbles.

  Very nice hotel. It has a courtyard that has poop bags and clean with little shrubs. The room is clean smells good has convenient amenities for humans.

  cheap and clean enough for my dog but I need a little bit nicer. There are absolutely zero places to eat nearby so it’s in a horrible location.

  Red Roof Inn Gallup

  It was a nice and clean stay. We drove across the country and stopped there to rest. Great for pets and love that there is no additional pet fee.

  Review

  The room itself was great however there’s not actually a designated pet area or any grass for them to go potty. There’s quite a bit of litter and I cleaned poop where my pup was able to use. You can hear the people above you pretty loud so you might want to take the second floor so they don’t disturb your sleep like they did ours. BUT The room it was really clean and well maintained with a really comfortable bed!

  Revised Pet Rules

  The current rules posted upon check in list a one pet per room rule and bans leaving your dog unattended. That said, the room is nice. Note that the hotel is on the very far west end of west. Gallup.

  Not a fancy place but clean and had friendly staff. Nothing but rocks for the dogs but expected that in the desert. The floor above was creaky but I was so tired I never noticed that or the train when I went to sleep.

  Adequate!

  Three bones because the staff was extremely friendly, we felt safe, we had parking in front of our door, and the water was hot in the shower.

  Squeaky floorboards in the room above us disturbed our sleep for hours though, and the mini fridge was warm upon our arrival.

  Still, always grateful for a hotel option with no pet fee.
