We stayed here twice in the last 10 days: once while heading north and again while heading south. While they were welcoming to our dogs, neither time did the hotel have hot water. I thought it was a one time thing during our first stay, but it happened again on our second stay. No one at the hotel was interested in helping with this issue. They also did not clean up outside trash or keep the poop bags outside stocked. I know it's the holidays and it's hard to get help, but I do expect minimum services, like hot water. Very disappointed.

After driving a packing Uhaul from DC to Salem, NC, the La Quinta provided exactly what was needed. Friendly staff with a smooth check-in, ample grassy area for my Great Dane mix to stretch her legs and do her business, and a comfortable and clean room for a great night's sleep before hitting the road in the morning.

Started with an unstaffed front desk, then an employee who was definitely not organized. Beds were awful - hard mattresses on some metal frame that made terrible noises every time you moved. Very thin walls - awakened a couple of times by noise outside our room. Not awful, but you can do better for a good night’s sleep

We’re very disappointed. Upon arrival we were advised they had no cable, no internet, no TV and were not able to issue keys. To get in and out of the room, the only attendant available had to physically use a key to let guests in/out. We understand these events can happen and are unavoidable.
The next morning, we looked forward to the breakfast offered by La Quinta, and most importantly to a fresh cup of coffee before hitting the road on our way to Florida. To our deep disappointment and disbelief, the coffee dispensers were empty. We informed the front attendant that the coffee urns needed to be refilled. She unapologetically informed us that they couldn’t make coffee because they had no filters! She also said, she had just come in and couldn’t do anything to help. I find this to be a very poorly managed hotel. Didn’t anybody notice the need to get coffee filters the night before??
The breakfast supplies were also very scant. They had bagels but no cream cheese, no serving utensils for the warmer with the scrambled eggs and potatoes. No attendant in the area. No wonder I was the only guest trying to get some coffee at about 7:30am - a time when the breakfast area at other La Quintas are teaming with guests! By the way, there was also no water in the pool. For all the above reasons, we find the service provided to be unacceptable and below par. We’re normally not prompt at giving bad reviews but we find this experience to be extremely unsatisfactory. I would give this hotel no more than 2 bones.

Reasonable priced recently remodeled, clean and comfortable. Big dogs allowed. GREAT outdoor walking areas.

Room was great. Staff was great with our dog. They do allow large dogs. Iron, hair dryer, tiny coffee pot, and fridge in the room. Free continental breakfast, outdoor pool, nice gym (ask it’s hidden), computer work station in lobby, huge lobby, dog exercise areas around the hotel. No smoking.
