  Nowhere to walk dogs

  No treats or even welcome for our dog. Essentially no place to walk her either. Just a few narrow strips of grass on edge of parking lot. Staff was unfriendly. The room was clean and our stay was quiet.

  Great place! Super staff!

  There was an issue with our room and the front desk person handled it completely. I could not have been happier. Nice room. Clean and quiet. Affordable rate. Carpet on the floor throughout the room. Would definitely stay here again. Lots of restaurants and stores nearby that you could walk to. Not a large dog business area at the hotel property but there’s a sidewalk for walking around the area.

  Nice clean room

  We just needed a one night stay traveling home from Thanksgiving visiting. We had a nice clean room with a king bed on the first floor. Our husky Aria had a most comfortable sleep with us! Good place! We just had to leave earlier than when breakfast started.

  More pet tolerant than friendly

  The room that we were given definitely had a strange odor. The desk wanted to charge a pet fee upon checking in. Not much green space for airing and walking the dog.

  The room smelled weird and there was only lukewarm water in the shower this morning. Otherwise, the location is good (near restaurants) and right off of I-81.

  Don't sleep at Sleep Inn!

  Dog friendly hotels don't have to be disgusting. Exploded soda in refrigerator, dirty bathtub, and whole bathroom had dirt around entire baseboard. Carpet had not been vacuumed which meant my dog was eating who knows what, Cheerios were the least of it. I could go on and on. Awful.

  Helpful staff, great breakfast

  I had made the reservation for the wrong week, but the woman at the desk was so helpful in fixing it. There was actually a cooked breakfast with scrambled eggs and nice bacon, rather than the packaged items promised. The room was spotless and not reeking of perfumed cleaning products either. The bed was very comfortable. The towels were thin and skimpy, but otherwise a great stay!

  We will be back

  This place was great. Only a little more than the cheap places but it was Clean, well managed, lots of area to walk our dog. Nice breakfast as promised. Lots of eateries for breakfast, lunch and dinner within a walk or short drive. Well worth going here.

  Spacious and quiet

  I was actually surprised at how great our stay was here. The room was clean and spacious. We had easy access to the outdoors (though we did need to go out the front door). Staff was kind and the location was great. Lots of green stuff for Jasper to wander in, and the bed was comfortable. We’ll stay here again!

  Tired Hotel

  Room was very tired and experienced something we never have before. The door to the bathroom was missing its latching mechanism. When reported to the front desk I was told, “We will make note of that."

  Clean and Pleasant Stay!

  We just stopped over here for one night while on our way back home. Clean rooms and pleasant staff made for a nice stay. Good place to stop off I-81 with your doggie!

  Disappointing at best

  The folks who work here are very nice and are trying their best in housekeeping, maintenance, and breakfast guest service under very poor management. There was no hand or bath soap in the room. Front desk advised she had none and advised the hotel had none and I should use shampoo to wash. The room was very clean but had a very stale odor, perhaps because it was carpeted and hadn’t been cleaned in a long time? The hallways had an overabundant sanitizer smell - a big red flag for covering other issues.

  My biggest concern was the condition of the beds. The fabric on the sides of the box spring in my room were so torn my young and curious cat was able to easily crawl INTO the box spring. And did so numerous times that night meaning I got no sleep. O.M.G. And the finale was getting locked out of my room the next morning trying to load up with multiple trips. Very kind maintenance fellow was in the hall and said it happens all the time. He very kindly took my door card and had it reprogrammed so I could get the rest of my things and my cat. No, we won’t be back.

  Nope

  I regularly travel I-81 and Harrisonburg is about halfway in my route. As soon as I walked into this hotel, I remembered that I once stayed here before and it was a disaster. This is one of the most poorly insulated hotels I have ever stayed in, and there is a 2 inch+ gap under the door leading to the hallway. The result: my dog hears every sound (and barks). They also put people with dogs on a hallway with the laundry and fitness center, which means ... you guessed it ... more noise. Even with the tv on all night, I didn't sleep at all the last time I stayed here. In addition, there is virtually no "pet area." There's a tiny strip of grass about 5 feet long in front of the hotel, but that's the only place to take your dog out. (There's nothing behind the hotel). Needless to say, I will not make the mistake of forgetting that I stayed here in the future.

  Great Location

  Nice hotel. Had comfortable room on the first floor. Room was spacious and clean. No musty odors or pet smells. Bed was comfy and the bathroom was great. Staff very helpful and I always saw someone cleaning something when I went through the lobby. No back entrance but lots of parking and trolleys to assist with luggage. There were always 4 available every time I walked by. Lots of restaurants and shopping close by. Breakfast was the normal fare and area was kept immaculate. Would stay here again.

  Clean & Friendly

  The hotel staff was very welcoming, the rooms were clean and the breakfast was good. Stopped overnight for just one night on our way down to Nashville. Close to the highway and surrounded by lots of restaurants so plenty of food off site was available. Will remember this hotel for future stopovers.

  Great place!

  Enjoyed the Sleep Inn. Staff was very very friendly and courteous and the location is perfect; right off the interstate and surrounded by loads of food/entertainment options (saying nothing of the Shenandoah being at your doorstep). Perfect for the family and two dogs in tow.

  Great Location

  We stopped on our way to Maryland. Nice facility! Great for dogs! Easy access to 81 and food and gas! Very friendly staff! Room could use a little updating. Beds were a little hard, but after being on the road all day, we slept okay. Not much green area for dog walking, but we made it work. Thanks for being there for us!

  Love This Hotel!!

  I stay here every time I’m in the ‘Burg - about three times a year. I can bring my GSD easily in and out. The staff has always been very sweet and accommodating. Close to eating establishments, shopping and JMU. Love it!

  Clean and Comfortable

  Very nice hotel, clean and comfortable. The only thing that kept it from 5 stars for me was the only way into the rooms was through the lobby. We much prefer being able to get in and out of the room through a less public entry, especially when you do that last "out" of the night. A minor point, and one that many people wouldn't care about. Otherwise, nice place.

  Found everything as we expected. Room was exceptionally clean. The pet area was clean as well, thoroughly policed.

  Spotless and quiet!!

  Immaculate hotel, great location and the most comfortable bed!!! My Goldendoodle approved!!! My only complaint is there really is no designated area to walk the dog.

  Dog friendly staff; convenient to interstate

  The staff were very friendly and helpful. Having learned a lesson from the last hotel we stayed at, I asked if the room was on the first floor, which it wasn't. The desk person put us in a very convenient first floor room. There are plenty of restaurants and gas stations and it's easy access off and on I-81. My only complaint is that the bed linens smelt like they had not been changed. I did mention this to the woman at the front desk who said the room had been cleaned and that she experienced the same issue when she stayed there. Glad I brought my own pillow and blankets!

  convenient location

  Easy on easy off from I81. Nice location with a lot of stores and malls around including movie theater and an urgent care place. Many different restaurants to choose from. Easily walk to them. Close to JMU.
  $89 for a mid weeks stay with a $15 pet fee. Breakfast was one of those make your own waffles and cereal, serve yourself. Fitness room. Green space for Fido to pee. We walked down and around the block. Room was clean. No complaints. Would stay here again.

  Very Friendly

  We had a difficult drive to the hotel but upon arrival our dogs were offered treats by the front desk. They were very welcoming to us and our dogs. I only wish that we had been given a first floor room like most pet friendly hotels provide.
