Receptionist Larry was extra delightful and welcoming! Personally I think the 4 Bones rating as of our stay is a little generous. It is a La Quinta after all. Very clean, comfortable. Made my reservation 2 weeks in advance and requested quiet top floor away from elevators or ice maker. Got a third floor out of 3 right next to elevator. Could hear trampling from neighbors above but luckily all was quiet at bedtime. During our stay many utility workers were staying there. Perhaps a corporate rate discount. This lead to extra smokers and drinking and shirtless guys going in and out, hanging in parking lot, etc. But they were friendly enough. The location is great with lots to do nearby. We were visiting friends for 1 night in VA Beach while traveling and based on reviews for dog friendly hotels, we chose this place even though it was less convenient to the beach. We would gladly stay here again if the price is competitive as it was upon our booking. All in all, for the price point and dog friendliness, this was a relatively good deal. But 4 Bones, nah!!

Our recent experiences with pet friendly hotel rooms have been gross, but not this one.
The last several had LVP flooring that was gritty and dirty. This place was clean, had carpeting, and didn't look or smell like pet families should expect less. That was a lovely surprise!

Overall the hotel was nice and satisfactory apart from a couple water related issues. They allowed our dogs, but we did have to speak to them several times about the pet fee (we came with service dogs).

There were guests that came into their room past midnight and carried on for more than 45 minutes. We had to call the front desk three times to come up to try to quiet them down, which was very disruptive in our sleep.

Staff friendly but never took care of the marijuana smell on 4 floor numerous guest complaining besides my family beds uncomfortable and hard breakfast in a bag with gross cheap fake egg and cheese biscuit a bottle of water a muffin supposed to stay a week left after first night

This hotel was great. They had us booked in a room on the 2nd floor but happily changed us to a room on the 1st floor. So happy to be able to take our bassets with us and would definitely stay at this hotel again. The bed was very comfortable.
