Dog at Montrose Dog Beach in Chicago

If you want to get a workout on the water and an amazing view of the Windy City skyline, rent a dog-friendly kayak or stand-up paddleboard from Kayak Chicago. After you’re done clean the sand out of your pooch’s fur at the convenient self-serve dog wash area. Admission is free to Montrose Dog Beach, but DFA tags are required for all dogs, and those cost $5. Check out the Navy Pier with your pup along the 2,000-foot-long walkway connected to the Pier and you’ll pass several dog-friendly restaurants, bars and activities. At the end of the day, head to Roscoe Village to howl the night away at The Four Treys Tavern, a dive bar where dogs are allowed inside that’s known for its wild karaoke nights.
