This photo was taken in Wood River, IL. Capt. Lewis had a Newfoundland hound named Seaman that he took along with him on Lewis & Clark Expedition of 1803-1806. We started the Lewis & Clark Frontier Dog Walk to honor Seaman, the Newfoundland hound which traveled from the east coast to the west coast and back.
