  John at Waggy Tails is a Lifesaver

  We absolutely love Waggy Tails and are grateful to John for watching our 2 older dogs. We first connected with John when we needed some extra help walking our dogs during the day while we had some work conflicts. John was right there! Then he watched our dogs when we were out of town. We have only used Waggy Tails ever since! John has a deep understanding of dog behavior and many years experience working with and training dogs. He has a special pen for our 2 dogs when they stay with him and we know that they'll get the care, attention, and extra walks that they need. It's a comforting feeling knowing that John and his family take great care of our dogs when we have to be away. We highly recommend John without any hesitation!

  The Best

  I had to go out of town and board a dog on short notice and John stepped in without a problem. I was taking care of my son's dog, an Old English Bull and as soon as he saw John, he knew where he was. John is great with animals, something you can't fake. His facilities are spotless and our dog got plenty of exercise. John has tremendous interaction with his guests and I would not hesitate to go to him again. Care, exercise and facility, all top notch.

  Excellent Experience!!

  John was really exceptional since day one, I really can't say enough good things about my experience. I have two large American Bullies, who can be very stubborn at times. John had no issues controlling and caring for my two dogs on a daily basis. He was trustworthy and reliable, and was able to accomadate visits to my very busy unpredictable schedule. I provided him a key to my home and never had an issue or question about his integrity. He is very knowledgable and helped me on multiple occasions, even offering to take my dog to the vet when he noted she had an intestinal obstruction (which he was right about). I would highly recommend John to anyone looking for someone to care for their pet.

  Dog Whisperer

  John is like the shorelines very own dog whisperer. Any time we need any dog advice or training, he gives us the very best service and advice. Even when he first met our stubborn bulldog who would not listen to anyone, our dog listened to John right away. He commands the dogs respect in a way we have never seen. In addition he has taught us how to do the same. In addition, John is probably the only person we have ever trusted with a KEY to our house. It is nice knowing that we have someone we can trust and count on. We highly recommend John.

  Waggy Tales

  I have had John as a walker for my 80lb Airedale terrier for the last two years and we couldn't be happier with John. John is a retired State policeman who has worked with dogs for years. He genuinely loves dogs and is really good with them.. He is professional in his approach to work as he texts on Sundays to set up the daily schedule and each day after he walks the dog sends a text to say the dog is all set.
  John also has a pretty good sense of humor which is a big plus for me.

  John is terrific!

  I moved to New Haven from Brooklyn a few months ago and was in need of a dog walker for my beast, Rufus (a pit mix). I got John's name and he came to meet Rufus and realized quickly why his last name is Thunderlove. Rufus is seventy pounds of love and VERY expressive (OK, probably not so well behaved) and has a tendancy to jump up on visitors. If you are a male and about average height, his front paws are perfectly positioned to hit men right in the...well, you can figure it out. John took it in stride and completely understood. Since then John has been walking Rufus religiously and when I am traveling or not home, he provides updates and I never think or have to worry that Rufus is not being taken care of...the way I would take care of him. I've been home and see how excited Rufus gets when John pulls into the driveway. And when he leaves, Rufus sits on the couch and stares out the window. I honestly can't say enough about John and I know Rufus feels the same.

  John is Amazing!!!

  I was in need of a new dog walker because the one I used to use only covered part of New Haven, and when I moved to East Rock I was informed that she did not cover East Rock. I called John and within a few hours he called me back to arrange a meet and greet with Samson (my very spoiled rotten rescue mutt who does not always like men). I have been using John for months now and I can honestly say that Samson loves him. On top of needing someone to walk Samson for a half hour almost every day, I also needed someone who would walk any dog that may be in my apartment. I am constantly watching other people's dogs for overnight stays and John is really great about making sure all pups in the house are well taken care of. There was one occasion where John showed up to walk Samson, and Samson had diarrhea. John was great, he let me know right away, cleaned up in my apartment, and gave Samson some TLC. I recommend John to everyone I meet who has dogs and is in need of professional pet care.

  My husband and I highly recommend John for dog sitting/training. He provided exceptional care for our six large dogs (American Pitbull Terriers and American Bullies). We contacted him a week before Christmas Eve in need of a sitter because the one we had scheduled cancelled at the last minute. John was very professional -- he returned our phone call within a few hours and spent an hour answering questions (we have a lot given the number and type of dogs we own). Following this, he scheduled a time to meet the dogs before our vacation. We were very impressed with him during his visit. In addition to answering all of our questions, he came prepared with questions that demonstrated his knowledge of dogs. His interactions with our dogs were very impressive and, again, demonstrated his knowledge of dog behavior and training. After this visit, we had no concerns about his ability to properly care for our pack. When we were away, John provided twice daily updates, including pictures and brief descriptions of his visits. We did not require John to spend a significant amount of time with our dogs, but, going above and beyond, he chose to exercise and love on them for hours each day. Generally when we come home from vacation our dogs are full of energy and distressed, however, they seemed genuinely happy after their stay with John. We would not hesitate to recommend him to any family in need of a dog sitter or trainer. My husband and I have used many sitters over the years, and John truly was the best.
