  Stellar trainer...5 bones is not enough!

  James with Lonestar Dog Trainer transformed our English Cocker Spaniel, Pearl.

  Pearl, our english cocker spaniel, went to James at 20 weeks old, but the training started before she arrived at the Lonestar Dog Trainer facility. Gratefully, James answered questions via the phone, sent how-to videos, and text to provide insight on how to guide Pearl (and myself) before her arrival. Pearl was hard to potty train, inside she would do anything for food, but outside she would not come to her name, food, or anything else. She was independent and focused on what she wanted.

  James transformed Pearl. Pearl arrived at James' facility as a somewhat shy, independent, energetic, and slightly unruly puppy. James returned her to us as a confident, interactive, and well-mannered puppy that is healthy, happy, and focused on her humans.

  While Pearl was with James, he provided consistent communication on how Pearl was doing, what they were working on, and if he had any concerns. I was impressed with the level of communication and how James would text and upload videos to Facebook to monitor her progress. In addition to the communication, while Pearl was at James' facility there were two ice storms, crazy cold weather, and some beautiful Texas days, which he kept her safe, warm, and continued training Pearl.

  When Pearl was returned to us, it was our time to be trained. James provided detailed training, guidance for how to transition Pearl back into our home, and told us to call or text with questions or concerns. We have been shocked. Pearl does everything James stated she could do and more. To say we are grateful for the work James put into Pearl would be an understatement! This transformation is simply amazing. We look forward to working with James again in the future.

  If I could give 10 bones, I would

  So we obtained a Christmas puppy and she soon grew up to be a nuisance. She would steal everything off the counter, dig into every trash can, play bite when we held her, and didn’t travel in cars well. She would literally jump up on a bar-height table and clear the steak dinner off it. Walking her was a nightmare. We would have to wear heavy gloves while she constantly pulled on the leash. She would attempt to chase every rabbit, squirrel, dog, cat, and jogger in sight. It got to the point where if we wanted to relax, we had to put her in the crate. This was not what we envisioned with a dog, but it was reality. We tried dog training books and methods only to fail.

  Then we heard about James at Lone Star Dog Trainer. I was a little skeptical about the cost and the 1-month investment, but we decided to give it a try. We drove to drop her off, and James gave us a tour of his state-of-the-art indoor/outdoor facility. We missed our dog dearly, but James was good about sending videos and texts to communicate progress. Then the day came when James brought the dog home. James prepared our house, then gave us detailed lessons on training and working with the dog. We were also given supplemental instructions and videos so we would jot forget.

  Now the best part. All of the problems mentioned in the first paragraph…ALL GONE!!! When we walked our dog, the neighbors would mentioned they didn’t recognize our dog with her new behavior. No more counter surfing, walks are a pleasure, we can put our trash cans on the floor again, we can take our dog around town, no more pulling flowers in the yard, and so much more! We now have full enjoyment of our dog and then some. James is also readily available to answer questions as we worked on reinforcing the training with our dog.

  So in essence, the training and time was worth every penny. I would give James 10 stars if I could. Don’t go through life with your dog as a source of frustration. Give Lone Star Dog Trainer a month and live the life you envisioned with your canine companion.

  More Than We Could’ve Imagined

  James took a lab (stereotypical one at that) that I bought for my disabled mother and trained him into the dog my mother has been waiting years for in just over a month. He is the best trainer we could’ve ever found. Because he is the best he had more than our dog to train, this is a positive not a negative. He is busy training, paying attention to the dogs, working them together to train through the dogs bring distracted. He may not get back to you right away... but he is with your dog and that is the most important thing and provides the best trained dogs! James did provide many updates, pictures, and videos on our dog. I can’t think of a negative, my mom now has a dog that is trained better than we could have ever imagined.
