  Cozy Seating

  I see some people complaining about the dog friendly seating being separate from other diners, but I guess it just depends on your dog. My dog is high anxiety, so this area was perfect for him. We watched the pelicans fish and swim in the marina while we ate, and Buck was primarily unbothered. We’ve been working on Buck’s anxiety since adopting him, and this was his first time going out to dinner. I don’t think we could have found a better place for a good boy like him to test his courage. It was peaceful and quiet and our waitress was super sweet. They even have a doggy menu with bacon, hamburgers, and chicken breast for those who can have people food. We had a great time.

  designated area for dogs

  Place pretends to be pet friendly by having a designated area for dogs. Reality is that they have a secluded area with a long rule book away from other outdoor areas that would be great for dogs. Head over to Twisted Tuna, they couldn’t be more welcoming.

  Very Nice

  I thought the personal pet area was very nice and my dog enjoyed . She s a Goldendoddle puppy and is pretty well behaved but does have her moments when she might bark so having our own private area was comforting and I did not feel I was imposing my dog on anyone . A lot of people came over and pet her and she loved the attention staff was friendly and brought her a bowl of ice water..A +

  Dog Area Nice

  I disagree with some of the others who dislike the dog area at Shrimpers. We have a large dog and like the extra space afforded by the dog area. Yes, it’s apart from the other diners, but it’s also right on the water, shady, with wood chips, and with lots of space in between tables. We felt completely welcome by the wait staff. They have us a bowl of water for the dog. I much prefer this to Twisted Tuna where you are crammed in with other diners, often not in the shade.

  I love Shrimpers, hate the dog area seating. Just go over to the Twisted Tuna where you can sit with others.

  In Regards To The Following Post Below:

  Your dog area isn’t a “potty area.” It is 3 picnic tables under a nice tree right on the water providing a fresh bowl of water for your pup and treats too! It’s on a mulched area so dogs will not be using the bathroom on it. We have doggie bags if your dog needs to go potty on the side of the restaurant (away from dining area). I worked at shrimpers for 5 years, so now that I don’t work there I’m allowed to stand up to customers who make false reviews because I’m also now a customer. May I ask though, would you really want your animal around your dining experience in the main part of the restaurant? Not fair to people who choose to eat dog free. So for being allowed to bring your dog with you to dine with you, I think it’s a pretty nifty find!
