Super dog friendly outside on the patio

This place welcomed my dog with a bowl of water on the outside patio. They even have a doggie menu. We ordered the hamburger patty and to make sure it was not loaded with seasoning I tasted it first. It was good juice beef. The wings we had were great!! I will be back.

    Local Bar

The food and service was fantastic! They brought a big water bowl and bacon for the dog. The area for dogs is a side patio/bar, seat your self.

    Lovely afternoon after the beach

We were very leary about taking the dog here after reading the other review, but decided to give it a try anyway. We also went inside to inquire about their policy before just bringing our dog onto the patio. The waitress was very friendly and said of course. We went to fetch the dog out of the car and upon returning she already had a bucket of water and 2 doggie bones waiting for him. Food and staff were great, even said we could let him loose if we wanted, we choose not to although it was quite. We will definately visit Merks again, with or without the dog.

    Rude Staff

I went in to confirm they allow dogs on their deck, and the first staff member let out a slight laugh, and said "I'll have to check". He checked with another staff member who said that dogs are allowed and we could go around the side ourselves. As soon as we walked into the deck area EVERYONE - staff, customers - all stared at us as if we were doing something wrong. No staff members even offered to help us find a seat, or welcomed us, or made us feel like we wanted to be there. We left without even sitting down, because it was too uncomfortable being stared at and not acknowledged.
