    Brookings� oldest full-service restaurant, The Pheasant started as a small gas-station cafe and has grown into an institution serving up a menu of hand-pattied and char-broiled burgers, other grilled entrees, seafood, platters, salads, pasta, and handmade sandwiches, plus a full bar serving wine, liquor, cocktails, and beer. Five dog-friendly tables are perfect for Fido; bring him along and enjoy the live music on certain nights! Try the Wild Canadian Walleye, caught in cold Canadian waters, lightly breaded, and pan-seared with fresh lemon, served with garlic mashed potatoes or fresh vegetables. Finish it off with Trevor�s Artisanal Ice Cream, made in-house! The Pheasant is open Monday through Thursday 11:00am to 9:00pm and Friday and Saturday from 11:00am to 10:00pm; the lounge stays open until midnight or later. Monday nights feature live jazz music.       Great Food & Friendly Staff

      Beautiful outdoor deck and unique food items that pass the test even for foodies. Brought water for our pup and the outdoor deck is under a pergola to get a little shade and protection. Reasonable prices and excellent drinks.

      Great food, GREAT WINE, and lovely service

      I’ve loved The Pheasant since I first visited 44 years ago to meet my prospective in-laws. It was a little bittersweet to eat there this time as both of them have passed. It was a delight to bring our German Shepard puppy to there patio for dinner one evening and lunch another time. They aren’t only dog friendly but dog nutty!!! Quimby had everything she could possibly need, and several of the wait staff came out to love up on her and converse with us. The food and wine were up to their usually excellent standard, and all three of us had a lovely time.
