• Your pet must be identified with a microchip that was applied before or on the same day as the rabies vaccination.
• Your pet must be vaccinated against rabies, after being microchipped, 21 days prior to entry. If the previous vaccination is still valid, there is no need to wait 21 days.
• Dogs and cats must be at least 15 weeks old in order to travel to the Netherlands because the first rabies vaccination is administered from the age of 12 weeks.
• Travelers from EU countries must bring a Pet Passport issued by a licensed veterinarian for entry.
• Pets from elsewhere must travel with a veterinarian health certificate from an accredited veterinarian instead. After the certificate has been signed by the veterinarian it is valid for 10 days.
• An owners declaration form must be completed by the owner and/or person traveling with your pet. You and your pet must make the same travel movement within five days of eachother and carry proof of this (e.g. a copy of your boarding pass or ticket).
• Upon arrival, report your pet to Customs to verify documents and gain entry.
• The maximum number of companion animals (dogs, cats and/or ferrets) that may accompany the owner or authorized person must not exceed five unless the pets are traveling for the purpose of participating in competitions or sporting events, the owner provides written evidence of registration for the event, and the pets are over 6 months old.
