Entry Requirements
Complete the following entry requirements to travel to Panama with your pet:
- Obtain a health certificate in the country of origin. If you're traveling from the U.S., the certificate must be certified by an official USDA veterinarian and the pet's veterinarian.
- Once completed, send the form in an envelope marked "TRAVELING WITH PET" to the Consulate of Panama at the above address for authorization. The fee for this service is $30, payable by money order made out to the Consulate of Panama.
- Before your arrival, you will also need to send copies of your passport, an exportation certificate, consular authentication, and a vaccination record.
- Required vaccines for entry into Panama include rabies, distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis and parvovirus for canines. Feline vaccination requirements include rabies, feline viral rinotraqueitis, calicivirus and panleukopenia.
- Proof of ecto and endo deworming treatment administered prior to travel is required, and animals should not have fresh wounds or wounds in the healing process.
Quarantine Information
Pets must be quarantined for 40 days upon arrival in Panama. However, you can request a home quarantine option for $130 to be paid in cash at Tocumen Airport. The filled out request must be emailed to camzoonosis@gmail.com and cam@minsa.gob.pa 3 to 5 days before travel to Panama.
