Fabulous!

The Jesse Hotel & Bar

One of the most pet friendly places I’ve ever stayed at. Dogs are welcome in the bar and dining area, and there’s a patio area for puppy relief upstairs so you don’t have to go out of the hotel at night. The venerable building combines antique vibes with contemporary furnishings and amenities. The rooms are upstairs, and there’s no elevator, but the friendly staff is glad to help with luggage. It’s worth the trip just to stay here. I’ll be coming back for sure.

Really Nice Motel

Western Village Inn and Casino

Really nice room, friendly staff, good amenities, including puppy water dishes in the room. My only complaint was that the front desk gave me erroneous information concerning Nevada law regarding dogs. I was told that it was absolutely prohibited to leave a dog in a car unattended. I was also told that I couldn’t leave my dog in my room, in addition dogs weren’t allowed in the casino or restaurant and there was no room service. So … ????

Can’t shop for necessities or groceries, can’t go to to a restaurant? Talk about your catch 22! I have to admit that the desk person did revise the hotel rule information — I could leave my dog in my room for a short period of time, like 15 or 20 minutes, as long as he didn’t bother anybody. Well, how much can I possibly get done in 15-20 minutes??? My first impression was that Nevada was even worse than California when it comes to idiotic laws.

Web research, however, showed that the Nevada law prohibits leaving dogs in cars during hazardous conditions, so that’s pretty sensible. But hotel staff shouldn’t give out erroneous information concerning legal restrictions, etc. Now I can enjoy the rest of my trip without having to leave my dog leashed to the car door handle!
