Being a Brit, I enjoy a good “lot.” Fish & Chips never disappoint. And, the dog gets to enjoy the sunny deck.

We were planning an early morning hike off the Kangamagus with our dog. Decided to stay the night before at the Best Western. I have to admit my initial impression when I opened the door to the hotel lobby/check-in wasn’t great. Smelled musty, like the rug needed a major cleaning, not just bottles of Fabreze being sprayed at night. However, my trepidation was soon alleviated. The lady who checked us in was very pleasant and thorough. Our room was clean and smelled fresh. The beds proved to be very comfortable and breakfast the next morning was good. We enjoyed bacon, eggs and hash browns and the husband also helped himself to waffles. Coffee in the lobby was excellent and is available 24/7. Only minor issue was that the dog couldn’t ever be left alone in the hotel room, whether crated or not. I get it, but most hotels are not that strict. All in all, it was a good start to a great day of hiking.
