Excellent
Best Western Plus Hood River InnGreat location, nice rooms, a little pricey but good. They are very welcoming of dogs and provide a great doggie treat bag. A definite great stay!
Truly Awful
Interstate 8 MotelThe only thing dog friendly about the place is that they allow dogs in the room. There is no dog area, she suggested walking around the asphalt of the building. The comforters were stained. One of the beds had dirty sheets, the curtains were hanging askew. Not many amenities. Horrid place.
Very Helpful Staff
SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western Reno AirportThis was an easy on and off from Highway 395, very comfy beds, clean rooms and very helpful staff. They were able to get us a room with outside access for our disabled dog. The only downside was flooring needs to be upgraded. It was stretched and had buckles, creating tripping issues. I would stay here again.
Pleasant stay
Olancha RV Park and MotelWe found our stay here to be very pleasant. Friendly staff, clean & comfortable rooms, great cafe with very tasty food! The mountain views from our room was beautiful. We were a little surprised at the “motel.” We expect a traditional building with several rooms, instead it was several mobile homes. The only problem with that was getting disabled pet up and down the steps. This is a very “down home” type of stay, not a luxury place. The area outside could use some sprucing up. Overall, it suited us to a tee.
Disappointing
Ramada by Wyndham KingmanWe were excited to stay at another original Route 66 motel. We have stayed at several in our travels. Unfortunately this one was a great disappointment. We expected the older type of rooms and they were as clean as you can make these old rooms. So the one bone is for the human rooms. The multiple disappointments for pets include a very unsanitary area for dogs. There was no fresh water, there was water on the ground that looked dangerous for a pet to drink. The area was posted “please clean up after your pet” however there were no pet bags or receptacles for the waste. I wouldn’t recommend this stop.
Great place, poor staff
Super 8 by Wyndham ClovisVery nice rooms and good location. A pet area is lacking. The front desk person was indifferent. She checked us into a room that was already occupied and she couldn’t/wouldn’t get off a personal call to fix the situation. She missed 2 business calls while I waited. Once her personal call ended she did manage to give us a decent room. The hotel is great (4 bones) but the staff gets 0 bones.
Great stop
La Quinta by Wyndham GallupVery accommodating and friendly. Rooms were very clean & beds comfy. The only negative, kinda, was the breakfast room. They were very busy with many families with kids; all the tables were taken leaving several disability seniors without tables. We made due with the seating at the front desk.
Ok for a night
Super 8 by Wyndham SonoraCons: there are steps up to most rooms, not apparent to us & very difficult for a disabled dog. Not really any area a disabled dog could reach. AC/heat was random, seemed to have its own idea of what temp we should use. Could hear the neighbors talking and dog barking. Pros: staff was friendly and helpful, loved the check-in persons bubbly/joking personality. The room was clean with no bugs.
Convenient location
Quality Inn & Suites Liberty Lake - Spokane ValleyThe location was great, they did a great job of putting us near an outside entrance on the ground floor for our dog. Unfortunately the clerk was grumpy, we had to call him to the desk to check in and he didn’t seem to appreciate it. We had the worst bed I think I’ve ever experienced at a hotel. A nice king size bed that unfortunately had an awful sinkhole in the middle. There was just no way we could keep from rolling into the hole. Had a very uncomfortable night.
