Unique camping in the keys
Sunshine Key RV Resort & MarinaThe park is dog friendly, much more than the reviews led us to believe. In fact, I would say nearly 50% of the guests had at least 1 dog. The sites are very close and do not allow much space between them. If you have dogs that spook easily, this might be an issue. We let the dogs swim where you launch kayaks and took them to sombrero beach to swim, as there are no dogs allowed at the campground beach area. The negative here with dogs is that if your site is in the middle of the park, you might have a LONG walk to a grassy area for your dog to relieve him or herself. There was no grass on the interior sites. This is a large campground, and it would be nice if there were additional dog areas. FYI there are nearby restaurants that allow you to bring your well-behaved dogs, even in Key West.
Dog friendly & special dietary needs
Moondog CafeWe dined on 4/6/21 with 4 people and 3 dogs (17lbs, 40lbs and 45 lbs) on the front patio. Seating is somewhat tight but doable. We have celiac family members and the menu accommodated vegan and gluten-free. The location is close to Duval St. We had garlic shrimp tacos, GF pizzas and mahi-mahi tacos. The sangrias were unique and delicious! be sure to check out the bakery items on the way out, which also include GF options!
Great food and doggie friendly!
Porky's Bayside BBQDined here on 4/7 with a group of 8 and 3 dogs. The food was excellent, live music and the dogs were met with a bowl of ice water.
