Great stop

National Monument to the Forefathers

good stop but worth about 15 minutes, lots of room for the dogs but the statue is the only thing here.

Good walk

Freedom Trail

few grassy areas, lots of hills. take advantage of boston common for potty breaks. walkable city, plenty of sidewalks. people didnt make room for us with the dog in the stroller. didnt see many buildings we could actually go inside but were able to see the outside.

Small rooms

Holiday Inn Express Boston - Waltham an IHG Hotel

updated hotel, small rooms. they keep the dogs on the first floor. we had a king bed. tile in rooms was nice. we use a baby stroller for our older dog and had to keep it in the bathroom, could not get in in-between the bed and the dresser. first floor is more noisy because its where all the amenities are. free breakfast, eggs, sausage, bagels, cereal. had hubby go and bring back to room. fridge and microwave in room. bed was softer than most which i loved. we were able to park and see our car from the room. we choose to be near the side entrance so we could take the dogs out easily. there is a fenced area a little further out.

Parking right there

Flagler Beach

Able to park right by stairs and walk down to beach. However we have an old arthritic big dog who has to have a stroller for any distance over 20 feet and there were no ramps that we found and the sand was soft in areas so where we came down was where we had to stay. I love the unique coquina sand and lots of shells. It is leashed but a 6-8 foot leash allows for plenty of play and our little dog had a blast.

Close to beach

Johnny D's

You literally just walk across the street from the beach and sit at the picnic tables. They were very busy when we went so hubby went inside and got menus and then went inside again to order and anytime we needed something. The tables do have umbrellas. Very close to road but there is a sidewalk. Prices are reasonable. Had the blt and soup and salad and all was excellent.

Great price

Candlewood Suites Savannah Airport an IHG Hotel

Two nights with pet fee was about $300 and they only charged us for 1 night of pet fees. We had the 1 bedroom suite which i highly recommend. Full size fridge, dishwasher, microwave and stove. Shower had plenty of hot water. Biggest complaint was the bed was rock hard. The pillows are small and thin but ive had that at other hotels so i brought my own. Tried to use pull out sofa since bed was so awful and there were no sheets for it so couldnt. We turned in dirry towels and got new ones without any problem. The curtains block out all the light. We were on end by stairs and it was auiet. Never had an issue getting elevator as were on upper floor and had dog in stroller. Staff was friendly. No breakfast which we knew but sucks. Didnt bother to use pool or gym. A decent amt of parking but does fill up by night. We were able to see car from room which we liked. No designated area for dogs to potty but small grassy area between parking lot and road which served to be just fine. No bugs and i always strip the bed and inspect it. Room needed a good deep clean. Weird large obvious stain by front door and small stains on walls throughout. Had not swept under desk or vacummed under couch as laying on floor with dogs noticed obvious food/crumbs. For the price i would recommend but the bed was too hard for me so would look elsewhere or bring foam cover.

Great to cool off

Savannah Bee Company

The dogs were so tired and were very happy to cool off and get attention. The staff were very nice. They had apple slices to try with the honey.

Small but cute

Savannah Botanical Gardens

A nice rest stop for the dogs. There are picnic tables. Didnt see any restrooms and the house was closed. Nothing was really blooming in February when we went. Would be a nice quiet place to have lunch. The dogs enjoyed the short stroll.

Beautiful views

River Street - Savannah Riverfront Area

Better to visit during the day. Gets packed at night with every one going to the bars. Fyi to get to the river you have to drive down these access roads which dont look like roads and are cobblestone. If you have never driven on cobblestone it is very bumpy and these are very old roads. Parking is very hard to find down at the river. Its best to park at the parking garage at olgethrope or close by and walk to the river. South carolina is right accross the river. Sometimes large cargo ships come through and its really neat to see. Lots of outside restaurant seating and a few dog friendly shops.

Expensive

Sam Snead's Tavern

Outside seating available. Nice surroundings. Close to hotels. Dinner was pricey. $20+ per entree. They were friendly to the dogs but didnt have any water for them or anything and dinner wasnt anything special for the price

Special dog breakfast dish

J. Christopher's

Seating is outside far enough off the road. They bring the dogs water in dog bowls. They have 2 breakfast dishes that you can order for the dogs. The small is $4 and change and the bigger one is $5 and change. They are also served in dog bowls. The dogs enjoyed the dishes, big portion. The small was plenty even for a big dog and each comes with a small milkbone to top it off.
