This is a nice park in the mountains east of Albuwuerque. Fenced and off-leash. Water available summer only so BYOW in winter. I take my two labs there often, especially in winter when the forest trails are too snowy. It’s quiet most of the day and you might be the only ones there unless you happen upon one of the local groups that seem to meet-up mid-morning and before supper time. Not too big but big enough (maybe an acre) for a workout with a tennis ball chucker. The ground is covered with 6 inches of paw friendly wood chips. I’ve never seen a mosquito so I wouldn’t worry much about that. Must have been a one time deal for the original poster as they are uncommon in this area. There is an off-putting sign at the gate that reads “ Caution - Rattlesnakes in Area”. I have never encountered one nor met anyone in the park who has but it is New Mexico and yes we do have rattlesnakes (I’ve lived about 4 miles from the park for 30 years and my dogs and I had have never encountered a rattlesnake)
