Wilderness State Park

Wilderness State Park is a pet-friendly spot in Carp Lake, MI. Fido can join you on the hiking trails or jump in the water. Most of this section's shoreline is closed to pets to protect the endangered piping plover habitat. However, a dog-friendly beach is located down a small path in the picnic area. You can find it by heading east of the headquarters building. Visit Website

    Almost non-existent dog beach

There are 26 miles of shoreline in this park, and maybe about 60 ft of it is designated for pets. It's beautiful, and if your dog likes to swim straight out and straight back, they will probably have fun. But if your dogs want to play or walk or have a little room to move, this is not the place for them. It's pitifully small.
