Harkness Memorial State Park
Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, CT is dog friendly. The centerpiece of this state park is the elegant summer mansion of the Harkness family. The big colorful building and the surrounding gardens were made into a state park in 1952, and certain parts of it can be enjoyed by dogs and their owners today. Pets on a leash are permitted in picnic and lawn areas but are not allowed on the beach or in formal gardens.
