El Dorado State Park
El Dorado State Park, the largest state park in all of Kansas, is dog friendly. Just like the frontier of yesteryear, this park is vast and open. The 2,000 acres of parkland is surrounded by 4,000 acres of wildlife area, all around an 8,000-acre lake. There are a number of trails that weave around the prairies and woodlands in the park, ideal for dogs and their owners to explore. Fido might meet a new furry friend along the way as well, including white-tailed deer, songbirds, game birds, and waterfowl. You may want to pause for a break along the way at one of the picturesque picnic areas located along the shoreline of the lake.
