Elk City State Park
Dogs are welcome at pet-friendly Elk City State Park in Independence, KS. This 857-acre park is diverse, full of dense oak and hickory woodlands, rolling meadows of big bluestem, and Indian grass. The main attraction of the park for dogs and their owners are the numerous trails, including Eagle Rock Mountain Bike Trail, the Post-Oak and Green Thumb Nature Trails, the Table Mound Hiking Trail, and the Squaw Creek Hiking Trail. You can bring Fido with you to enjoy the park, as long as they are on a leash under ten feet and mess is cleaned up after them.
