Bannack State Park

Dogs are welcome to join their owners as they explore Bannack State Park in Dillion, MT, the first Territorial Capital of Montana. The area that now encompasses the pet-friendly state park was also the site of Montana's first major gold discovery in 1862. Nowadays, you and Fido can take a wander down memory lane on one of the ghost walks or explore the area dressed up to appear like it would have back then. Your pooch can join you on a leash, as long as all mess is cleaned up after them. Visit Website

Or call (406) 834-3413 or email bannackstatepark@mt.gov for more information.

    Super fun visit!

Bannack is such a fun place to visit, and it’s super dog friendly! I took my dog over Memorial Day weekend and there surprisingly weren’t too many people. You and your dog can walk inside most of the houses and buildings, and there’s lots to see and learn!

Olive gives it two paws up!

Olive and I had a blast here!!! You can explore the whole ghost town with your doggo. We visited in June and it was getting a bit warm, but not too bad. we took along Olive’s cooling vest, but a snazzy wet bandana did the trick that day. It’s a really special place and the drive to get there is beautiful.
