Trail is very well maintained with plenty of room to meet people oncoming. There are lots of places to stop and let your dog enjoy the creek. Very shaded, and minimal terrain for us out of shape people.
When ever we could make it off the trail to the water, he loved it!! The walk was very nice and so pretty. There were lots of people with dogs and every one we saw had a good social dog. There were no issues. We are planning to go again before we leave. Tips! Being a ball of you have a dog that likes that. My daughter also wished she had wore her swimsuit because she would have gotten in with him. Highly recommend!
We paid $20 for parking and did the 2 mile walk to the visitor center and then 2 miles back. I think you can park at the visitor center for free though. It wasn’t the big Smoky Mountains but it was a perfect little walk for my dog. Lots to smell and lots of people on the trail that all love dogs. Lots of dogs too. Worth the $20!
This trail was perfect for my dogs. Not too long and not too short. My pup got to swim a little he was happy. Also there were tons of people with their dogs too. The only drawback was most of the other dogs were not friendly. All In all the area is not super pet friendly and that’s because of the bears. I was happy to bring my pups with me but it’s not the best place to bring them. People complained of no trash cans to toss the dog poop. There are cans at the visitor center. Trash cans through the park would be terrible because of wild life. So plan to make do. Great place. 5 stars.
Really enjoyed this trail. Easy walk with lots of other doggos around 🐾 (No worries, I’m still on my leash, Dad is hiding in the bushes, while Mom snaps the picture)
